Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Execute a full range of lawn care services, including professional mowing, string trimming, and power edging to maintain a clean, well-defined appearance for turf areas.
Apply granular and liquid fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides accurately and safely, following integrated pest management (IPM) principles and all state and federal regulations.
Perform seasonal aeration and dethatching services to alleviate soil compaction, manage thatch buildup, and improve water and nutrient uptake.
Proactively identify and diagnose common turf diseases, insect infestations, and invasive weed species, subsequently recommending and executing appropriate treatment plans.
Operate, calibrate, and perform daily preventative maintenance on a wide array of commercial-grade equipment, including walk-behind mowers, zero-turn riders, aerators, spreaders, and sprayers.
Conduct comprehensive property evaluations, including visual inspections and occasional soil sampling, to create customized, science-based lawn treatment programs.
Perform seeding and overseeding applications to establish new lawns, improve turf density, and repair areas damaged by stress, pests, or disease.
Maintain detailed, accurate records of all services performed, products applied, and time allocated to each property, utilizing company-provided software or digital logs.
Engage directly and professionally with clients on-site, providing clear explanations of services rendered, answering questions, and offering expert advice on lawn care best practices.
Identify and propose opportunities for value-added services such as grub control, soil amendments, or disease mitigation treatments based on property assessments.
Ensure all work is performed to meet or exceed company quality standards and client expectations, demonstrating a strong pride of workmanship.
Strictly adhere to all company and industry safety protocols, including the consistent and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Manage the organization and cleanliness of the assigned work vehicle, ensuring it is well-stocked with the necessary products and tools for the day's route.
Assist with seasonal landscape enhancement projects, which may include mulching, pruning ornamental shrubs, and installing sod.
Monitor property irrigation systems during service visits, making minor adjustments to heads and reporting significant malfunctions or repair needs to the client or supervisor.
Execute comprehensive spring and fall clean-up services, including meticulous leaf and debris removal to prepare the turf for the upcoming season.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry best practices, new product technologies, and regional turfgrass challenges.

Secondary Functions

Respond to ad-hoc client requests and address specific lawn or landscape concerns promptly and effectively, documenting the issue and resolution.
