Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Spearhead the conceptualization, strategic planning, and execution of high-impact research projects, ensuring alignment with overarching business and scientific goals.
  • Provide direct scientific leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of junior and senior scientists, fostering their professional and technical development.
  • Design, oversee, and troubleshoot complex experiments, ensuring the application of appropriate scientific principles, statistical rigor, and robust methodologies.
  • Analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex datasets, drawing clear and actionable conclusions to drive project decisions and future research directions.
  • Author and meticulously review key technical documents, including research reports, study protocols, regulatory submissions, patent applications, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
  • Serve as the primary scientific subject matter expert (SME) within the team and for cross-functional collaborators, providing deep insights and resolving critical technical challenges.
  • Develop and champion novel research methods, technologies, and analytical tools to enhance the team's capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Proactively identify and evaluate emerging scientific trends, external innovations, and new technologies to propose and initiate new strategic research initiatives.
  • Present complex scientific findings and project updates clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive the intellectual property strategy for the team, including the identification of patentable inventions and contributing to the drafting of patent filings.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for multiple research streams simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
  • Foster a culture of scientific excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the team and across the broader R&D organization.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with external academic institutions, contract research organizations (CROs), and industry partners to leverage external expertise and resources.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with relevant safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and quality management systems (e.g., GLP, GMP where applicable).

  • Advanced proficiency in sophisticated laboratory techniques, analytical instrumentation, or computational modeling relevant to the field.
  • Mastery of experimental design (including Design of Experiments, DoE), statistical analysis, and data visualization using software like JMP, R, Python, or GraphPad Prism.
  • Proven ability to write and review high-quality scientific documents, including peer-reviewed publications, patents, and regulatory filings.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools to effectively manage research timelines and resources.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and experience working with large and complex datasets.
