Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Act as the first point of contact and trusted advisor for the Sales team on all matters related to quoting, contract generation, and the associated legal requirements within the CPQ system.
- Meticulously review and triage incoming requests for non-standard deal terms, ensuring they are routed to the appropriate legal and business approvers in a timely manner.
- Own and manage the legal clause library within the CPQ and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, ensuring all legal language is up-to-date, approved, and properly configured for use.
- Collaborate directly with attorneys and contract managers to translate complex legal requirements into simplified, scalable, and automated rules within the CPQ platform.
- Conduct thorough reviews of system-generated quotes and order forms to verify accuracy, completeness, and full compliance with our company’s commercial policies and legal standards.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the legal aspects of the quote-to-cash process to ensure consistency and operational efficiency.
- Create and deliver training materials and workshops for the Sales team, empowering them to effectively use the CPQ system for self-service quote and contract generation.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot system issues, workflow bottlenecks, and process gaps that impact deal velocity or introduce risk, and drive them to resolution.
- Support the end-to-end deal cycle by facilitating approvals and ensuring all necessary documentation is in place for signature and booking.
- Partner with Sales Operations, Finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow between the CPQ system, CRM (Salesforce), and other enterprise platforms.
- Assist in the configuration, testing, and deployment of new products, pricing models, and business rules within the CPQ environment from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to deal cycle time, non-standard term requests, and contract compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the company's contract templates, fallback positions, and approval matrices, guiding sales reps to the most efficient path forward.
- Manage the system logic for dynamic document generation, ensuring the correct legal templates and clauses are applied based on product, geography, and deal characteristics.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing the overall quote-to-cash infrastructure, representing the needs and requirements of the Legal department.
- Maintain an organized record of all deal exceptions and approvals, creating an audit trail and a knowledge base for future negotiations.
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of our e-signature solution (e.g., DocuSign) as it integrates with the CPQ and contracting workflow.
- Analyze data on common non-standard requests to provide actionable insights to the Legal team for potential updates to standard contract templates or policies.
- Support renewal and amendment processes by ensuring that quotes for existing customers accurately reflect their current contractual terms and any new requirements.
- Champion best practices in contract management and process efficiency across the organization, fostering a culture of compliance and operational excellence.

- Support ad-hoc data requests from the Legal and Sales leadership teams regarding deal structures, clause usage, and approval metrics.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Deep proficiency with a CRM platform, particularly Salesforce.com.
- Hands-on experience with a CPQ platform, such as Salesforce CPQ, Conga CPQ, or Oracle CPQ.
- Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems and principles.
