Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct comprehensive substantive edits of legal analysis, practical guidance, and annotated statutes to ensure legal accuracy, doctrinal soundness, and strategic alignment with audience needs.

- Shepherd content through the entire production workflow, from initial manuscript assessment and author communication to final publication, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with authors to develop and refine content, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure the final product is of the highest quality.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge in one or more specific legal practice areas (e.g., Litigation, Corporate M&A, Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment).
- Perform in-depth legal research using platforms like Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to fact-check content and supplement author submissions.
- Uphold and apply the organization's editorial style guide, making consistent and logical decisions to ensure uniformity across all content offerings.
- Curate and update existing content collections to ensure they remain current, relevant, and comprehensive in a rapidly changing legal environment.
- Write original content, such as short-form legal news alerts, blog posts, and practical tips, based on emerging legal trends and developments.
- Participate in the strategic planning of new content products and features, providing insights from an editorial and subject matter expert perspective.
- Help train and mentor junior editorial staff on legal principles, editorial standards, and internal processes.
- Manage relationships with a network of external authors, recruiting new experts and ensuring a positive and productive collaboration.
