Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively prospect for, identify, and cultivate a pipeline of new clients through a variety of methods, including networking, referrals, cold outreach, and community engagement.
  • Conduct comprehensive, in-depth financial needs analysis sessions with potential and existing clients to accurately understand their unique situations, financial goals, and areas of risk.
  • Educate clients on the principles of risk management and the various types of life, health, accident, and supplemental insurance products available to them.
  • Design and present customized insurance proposals and protection strategies that precisely align with each client's identified needs, budget, and long-term objectives.
  • Clearly and persuasively articulate the features, benefits, and value propositions of different policies, ensuring clients fully comprehend their coverage options.
  • Guide clients through the application and underwriting process, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry regulations.
  • Skillfully close sales by gaining client commitment and successfully navigating any objections or concerns with empathy and professional expertise.
  • Foster and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, establishing yourself as their go-to resource for all insurance-related matters.
  • Initiate and conduct periodic policy reviews with existing clients to ensure their coverage remains adequate and evolves with their changing life circumstances, such as marriage, new children, or career changes.
  • Actively seek and generate referrals from satisfied clients to consistently grow your personal book of business and expand your professional network.

  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and compliance in all client interactions and business dealings, protecting both the client and the company.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • State Insurance Licensing: Must possess and maintain an active Life, Accident, & Health insurance license for the state(s) of operation.
  • Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of a wide range of insurance products, including term life, whole life, universal life, disability, long-term care, and various supplemental health policies.
  • Financial Needs Analysis: Proficiency in using financial assessment tools and methodologies to accurately calculate a client's insurance needs and risk exposure.
  • CRM Software Proficiency: Experience and discipline in using CRM platforms (like Salesforce, Zoho, or industry-specific software) to manage pipelines, track activities, and nurture client relationships.
  • Sales Process Management: Demonstrable ability to manage a full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to closing and post-sale follow-up.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Strong knowledge of insurance laws, ethical standards, and compliance requirements, including anti-money laundering (AML) and suitability standards.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:
