Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Meticulously inspect finished products for defects, damages, or inconsistencies to ensure they meet stringent quality assurance standards before packaging.
- Efficiently pack finished goods into designated cartons, boxes, or other containers, ensuring proper arrangement and count as per production orders and schematics.
- Accurately apply labels, stickers, and other identifying marks to packages, verifying that all information, such as lot numbers and expiration dates, is correct and legible.
- Operate and monitor various packaging equipment, including sealers, wrappers, and boxing machines, performing basic troubleshooting and adjustments to ensure continuous operation.
- Precisely weigh and count products and finished packages to ensure they meet specified weight and quantity requirements before sealing and shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following company policies, 5S principles, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Assemble and prepare packaging materials, such as boxes, containers, and inserts, ensuring a steady supply is available to avoid line stoppages.
- Carefully stack and palletize finished, packed boxes according to specified patterns, and prepare them for movement to the warehouse or shipping department.
- Follow all established safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communicate effectively with line leads, supervisors, and quality control personnel regarding any production issues, material shortages, or quality concerns.
- Accurately complete all required production paperwork and documentation, including logs for production counts, downtime, and quality checks.
- Rotate through different tasks and positions on the packaging line as required to support team goals and meet production targets.
- Monitor product flow on the conveyor line to ensure it is smooth and consistent, taking action to prevent jams or backups.
- Segregate and properly handle rejected or non-conforming products and materials according to established quality control procedures.
- Assist in basic equipment changeovers and setup procedures under the guidance of a line lead or technician.
Secondary Functions
- Participate actively in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members, demonstrating proper techniques and adherence to company standards.
- Support inventory counts and stock-taking activities within the production and packaging areas as needed.
- Perform minor preventative maintenance on packaging equipment, such as cleaning sensors and lubricating moving parts.
- Ensure the economical use of supplies and materials to minimize waste and control operational costs.
