Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately pick, pack, and stage customer orders for shipment, ensuring items match the packing slip and meet all quality standards before departure.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers, to safely move, locate, relocate, and stack merchandise.
- Receive incoming shipments, meticulously verifying contents against purchase orders and bills of lading (BOL), and promptly reporting any discrepancies or damages.
- Perform systematic data entry to update inventory levels, shipment statuses, and locations within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP software.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in full physical inventories to ensure the accuracy of stock levels and support inventory control efforts.
- Prepare and affix shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation to outbound packages and pallets, ensuring compliance with carrier requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to company safety protocols, 5S principles, and OSHA regulations at all times.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, both manually and with equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of cargo to prevent damage in transit.
- Inspect products for defects and damages during the receiving and picking processes, isolating non-conforming items for review by the quality control team.
- Process customer returns (RMA), inspecting returned goods, documenting their condition, and routing them for restocking, repair, or disposal.
- Monitor and manage levels of shipping supplies and packing materials, notifying the supervisor when reordering is necessary to prevent operational delays.
- Utilize RF (Radio Frequency) scanners and other handheld devices to accurately track inventory movements and confirm order fulfillment transactions.
- Collaborate with the transportation team to coordinate shipment pickups and ensure carriers have the correct information and freight.
- Assemble and prepare kits or value-added packaging according to specific customer or production requirements.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc inventory checks and assist the Inventory Control team with resolving stock discrepancies.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by providing feedback on workflow efficiency and potential safety hazards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and performance metrics.
- Participate in daily team huddles, safety meetings, and training sessions to stay informed on company policies and best practices.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Forklift Operation: Certified and experienced in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- WMS/ERP Proficiency: Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or Fishbowl.
- RF Scanner Usage: Proficient in using radio-frequency (RF) handheld scanners for order picking, receiving, and inventory tracking.
- Data Entry & Computer Literacy: Accurate and efficient typing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for logging and reporting.
- Basic Mathematics: Strong understanding of basic math for counting, inventory verification, and measurement tasks.
- Shipping Software Knowledge: Familiarity with carrier platforms such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or other multi-carrier shipping software.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a high-volume distribution center.
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with both LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) and small parcel shipping processes.
