Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional projects focused on process re-engineering and operational improvement, managing the entire project lifecycle from initial concept and business case development through to implementation and post-launch monitoring.
  • Conduct comprehensive, in-depth analyses of existing workflows, operational data, and resource allocation models to pinpoint critical bottlenecks, redundancies, and opportunities for significant performance enhancement.
  • Design, develop, and implement sophisticated, data-driven solutions, including new standardized operating procedures, workflow automations, and optimized staffing models, to directly address identified inefficiencies.
  • Employ a range of industrial engineering and statistical methods, such as time and motion studies, work sampling, and simulation modeling, to establish accurate productivity standards and capacity plans.
  • Develop, track, and analyze a suite of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to provide leadership with clear, actionable insights into business performance and the impact of improvement initiatives.
  • Champion and deploy continuous improvement methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management (TQM) to foster a sustainable culture of operational excellence and employee engagement.
  • Act as a key liaison and internal consultant between departmental leaders, front-line staff, and executive management to ensure alignment, gather requirements, and build consensus for change initiatives.
  • Facilitate dynamic workshops, Kaizen events, and brainstorming sessions with diverse stakeholder groups to map current-state processes, envision future-state possibilities, and co-create innovative solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and detailed written reports to senior leadership, clearly articulating complex findings, justifying recommendations, and outlining potential ROI.
  • Evaluate the financial and operational impact of proposed changes by performing rigorous cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and feasibility studies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on process optimization, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to colleagues and team members on best practices and analytical techniques.
  • Investigate and recommend cutting-edge technologies, software, and tools that can be integrated into business operations to drive automation, improve data accuracy, and unlock new efficiencies.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive repository of process documentation, including detailed process maps, value stream maps, standard work instructions, and system diagrams.
  • Develop and execute robust change management strategies to ensure the smooth adoption of new processes and systems, minimizing disruption and maximizing user buy-in.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and data analytics teams to specify requirements for new data collection systems, reporting dashboards, and analytical tools that support operational monitoring.
  • Perform root cause analysis on operational failures, quality issues, or performance dips, formulating and implementing effective and lasting corrective action plans.
  • Translate high-level strategic business goals into tangible, measurable operational projects and initiatives that can be executed at the departmental level.
  • Manage and prioritize a portfolio of multiple improvement projects simultaneously, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and project deadlines are met consistently.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of implemented solutions to verify their sustained effectiveness and identify opportunities for further refinement or iteration.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging methodologies, and best practices in management engineering, operations management, and process improvement to ensure the organization remains competitive.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer pressing business questions from leadership.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Process Improvement Methodologies: Expert-level proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt certification highly preferred), with a proven ability to apply principles like DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Statistical & Quantitative Analysis: Strong command of statistical methods and software (e.g., Minitab, R, Python libraries like Pandas/NumPy) for hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and data modeling.
