Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Spearhead the development and relentless execution of the practice's multi-year strategic plan, ensuring full alignment with the firm's overarching corporate goals and market positioning.
  • Assume full P&L (Profit & Loss) ownership for the practice, including comprehensive revenue forecasting, budget management, cost control, and maximizing profitability and key financial metrics.
  • Drive the entire business development lifecycle by personally identifying, cultivating, and closing significant new business opportunities with both new logos and existing key accounts.
  • Cultivate and sustain deep, trust-based relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers at client organizations, positioning yourself and the firm as a premier strategic partner.
  • Act as the executive sponsor and ultimate point of accountability for the firm's most critical and complex client engagements, ensuring exceptional delivery quality and measurable client value.
  • Lead the charge on large-scale proposal development, orchestrating cross-functional teams to create compelling, winning responses to RFPs and proactive bids.
  • Serve as a prominent thought leader for the firm by publishing insightful articles, speaking at major industry conferences, and contributing to high-impact marketing and PR initiatives.
  • Champion the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of top-tier talent, building a diverse and highly skilled team capable of delivering on the practice's strategic vision.
  • Provide inspirational leadership and dedicated mentorship to a team of Principals, Managers, and Consultants, actively guiding their career progression and professional development.
  • Oversee the strategic allocation of consulting staff and resources across the project portfolio, optimizing for team utilization, skill development, and project profitability.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance standards for all client deliverables, methodologies, and intellectual property generated within the practice.
  • Directly lead complex contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and Master Service Agreements (MSAs), effectively managing commercial risk for the firm.
  • Foster a vibrant, inclusive, and high-performance culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and a profound commitment to client success.
  • Continuously scan the market horizon to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and new technologies, translating these insights into innovative service offerings and practice capabilities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other Managing Principals and firm leaders to drive cross-practice initiatives, share best practices, and present a unified, powerful front to the market.
  • Conduct regular, insightful performance reviews and compensation planning for direct reports, making tough decisions when necessary to maintain a team of A-players.
  • Act as the final escalation point for resolving sensitive client issues, expertly navigating difficult conversations and preserving long-term partnerships.
  • Develop and nurture a robust ecosystem of strategic alliances and partnerships with technology vendors, other service providers, and influential industry bodies.
  • Present clear, concise, and compelling reports on practice performance, strategic initiatives, and market outlook to the executive leadership team or Board of Directors.
  • Champion the creation and codification of new intellectual capital, proprietary methodologies, and reusable frameworks that elevate the firm's value proposition and competitive differentiation.

  • Guide and oversee ad-hoc strategic data requests and exploratory analysis to inform practice-level decision-making.
  • Actively contribute to and influence the organization's broader data, technology, and operational strategy and roadmap.
