Primary Functions

- Troubleshoot and configure variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor starters, motor controls, and servo drives to resolve speed, torque, or drive-related issues and optimize system performance.

- Perform functional testing, signal tracing, and I/O verification to validate sensors, actuators, and control system interactions during commissioning and post-repair testing.
- Interface directly with customer site management and operations teams to provide status updates, root cause explanations, and recommended corrective actions while maintaining high customer satisfaction and professionalism.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and apprentices in the field, sharing best practices for diagnostics, repairs, and safe working procedures.
- Maintain accurate service reports, timecards, parts usage records, and digital documentation in service management systems (CRM/FSR) and ticketing platforms; close work orders with detailed notes and recommendations.
- Coordinate spare parts procurement, manage on-van inventory, and identify long-lead items required for complex repairs; work with parts coordinators to expedite critical component deliveries.
- Apply retrofit, upgrade, and modernization techniques to extend asset life—installing new PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, or mechanical upgrades to meet evolving throughput or reliability targets.
- Perform root cause analysis following major failures, prepare corrective action reports, and propose design or maintenance changes to prevent recurrence and improve mean time between failures (MTBF).
- Carry out software/firmware updates, backup and restore PLC/HMI programs, and ensure version control and documentation of control changes; maintain cyber-physical awareness of system integrity.
- Support emergency on-call rotations and be available for overtime or weekend assignments to support critical customer outages or scheduled shutdowns.
- Train customer operations and maintenance staff on safe operation, daily checks, troubleshooting basics, and preventive maintenance tasks to improve first-response resolution rates and reduce repeat service calls.
- Work collaboratively with sales, engineering, project management, and commissioning teams to provide pre-sales support, site surveys, and field feedback that inform system design and service offerings.
