Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Supervise, train, and coordinate the daily activities of material handlers, warehouse associates, and forklift operators to ensure efficient workflow and successful task completion.
- Maintain impeccable inventory accuracy through the execution of regular cycle counts, full physical inventories, and the timely reconciliation of discrepancies within the ERP/WMS system.
- Oversee the complete receiving process for all incoming raw materials, components, and supplies, meticulously verifying shipments against purchase orders for quantity, quality, and damage.
- Manage the efficient, safe, and organized storage of all materials, implementing and optimizing warehouse layout, slotting strategies, and space utilization to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Guarantee the timely and accurate picking, kitting, staging, and delivery of materials to internal customers, such as production lines and R&D, to prevent costly operational downtime.
- Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all material handling functions, including receiving, put-away, picking, inventory control, and shipping.
- Mentor, coach, and formally evaluate the performance of the materials team, providing consistent, constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Champion and enforce all safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse, conducting regular safety audits, GEMBA walks, and training sessions to maintain a zero-incident environment.
- Collaborate closely with Production Planning and Purchasing departments to monitor inventory levels, identify potential material shortages, and expedite critical parts to support production schedules.
- Serve as a power user and subject matter expert for the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to track material movement, process transactions, and generate performance reports.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and receiving issues, implementing robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Coordinate the logistics of all outbound shipments, including finished goods, scrap, and return-to-vendor (RTV) materials, ensuring proper packaging, documentation, and carrier management.
- Monitor, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the materials department, such as inventory accuracy, receiving cycle time, on-time delivery to line, and team productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Lean methodologies) within the materials department to enhance efficiency, eliminate waste, and reduce operational costs.
- Manage the quarantine and disposition of non-conforming, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory in close coordination with Quality Assurance and Finance departments.
- Plan and manage daily labor allocation to align with workload fluctuations in receiving, warehousing, and production support activities.
- Ensure the operational readiness and safety of all material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, by coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc requests for inventory data and analysis from various departments to aid in decision-making and forecasting.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the WMS/ERP system by providing user feedback and identifying enhancement opportunities.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to address material-related issues and support new product introduction (NPI) projects.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and projects focused on improving overall supply chain efficiency and reducing costs.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- ERP/WMS Proficiency: Advanced skills in using Enterprise Resource Planning (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Warehouse Management Systems for inventory transactions, tracking, and reporting.
- Inventory Management Expertise: Deep understanding of inventory control principles and best practices, including cycle counting, physical inventories, FIFO/LIFO, and Just-in-Time (JIT).
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE): Strong knowledge of the operation and safety protocols for various MHE, such as counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for analyzing inventory data, tracking KPIs, and creating reports.
- Lean/Continuous Improvement: Practical experience implementing lean methodologies like 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping to optimize warehouse processes.
- Supply Chain Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and logistics processes, from procurement and receiving to final distribution.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
