Primary Functions
- Interpret and work from complex engineering blueprints, P&IDs, schematic diagrams, and technical specifications to accurately assemble and install mechanical systems and industrial equipment.

- Carry out preventative and predictive maintenance routines on all plant machinery, including lubrication, component replacement, and system adjustments to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Utilize a wide range of precision measurement instruments, including micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and laser alignment tools, to ensure components meet exact specifications.
- Perform complex alignment tasks for rotating equipment, such as motors and pumps, using laser or dial indicator methods to minimize vibration and extend the operational life of the equipment.
- Fabricate and modify components using machine shop equipment like lathes, milling machines, and grinders to create custom parts or repair existing ones to specification.
- Execute rigging, lifting, and positioning of heavy equipment and components in a safe and controlled manner, adhering to all site-specific lifting and rigging plans.
- Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), cutting, and brazing operations as required for repairs, modifications, and fabrication of structural supports and machine guards.
- Dismantle, overhaul, and reassemble complex mechanical assemblies and gearboxes, replacing worn or damaged parts to restore them to full operational condition.
- Conduct pressure testing on pipework, vessels, and hydraulic systems to verify structural integrity and ensure they are free from leaks before commissioning.
- Install and maintain pipework systems for various fluids and gases, including cutting, threading, and joining pipes according to engineering diagrams and standards.
- Document all maintenance, repair, and installation activities meticulously in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for historical tracking, auditing, and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, electricians, and production staff to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach to maintenance projects and breakdown response.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, during all work activities.
- Identify opportunities for mechanical improvements and process optimization, providing constructive feedback and practical solutions to engineering and management teams.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, assessing the situation quickly and executing repairs under pressure to minimize the impact on production schedules.
- Read and understand technical manuals, service bulletins, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workshop and all work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are clean, organized, and properly stored.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for significant equipment failures to help develop and implement permanent corrective actions.
