Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, execute, and continuously refine a strategic territory business plan designed to meet and exceed sales targets and product adoption goals.
  • Proactively schedule and conduct a high volume of daily sales calls and presentations with targeted healthcare professionals in various settings, including clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-lasting professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and key decision-makers within your assigned geography.
  • Master complex clinical data, therapeutic guidelines, and product information to effectively communicate the scientific and clinical benefits of our products in a clear, persuasive, and compliant manner.
  • Utilize and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce) to meticulously plan call rotations, log all field activities, and analyze customer interactions to inform future strategy.
  • Stay rigorously up-to-date with the latest clinical studies, market trends, competitor activities, and industry regulations to maintain a strong competitive and compliant posture.
  • Skillfully overcome objections and address clinical inquiries from HCPs by using approved scientific data and promotional materials.
  • Organize, coordinate, and participate in local and regional medical conferences, speaker programs, lunch-and-learns, and other promotional events to enhance product awareness and education.
  • Effectively manage and allocate a promotional budget for your territory, ensuring all expenditures are tracked and contribute to a positive return on investment.
  • Ensure all sales, marketing, and professional activities strictly adhere to all relevant legal, regulatory, and company compliance policies (e.g., PhRMA Code, OIG, PDMA).
  • Provide timely, structured, and insightful feedback to internal partners, including marketing and senior management, on market conditions, customer needs, and competitive intelligence gathered from the field.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teammates, such as other sales representatives, Key Account Managers, and Medical Science Liaisons, to create a unified and supportive customer experience.
  • Analyze sales data, prescribing trends, and market share information within your territory to identify new opportunities and potential threats.
  • Create tailored presentations and messaging to resonate with the specific needs and patient populations of different healthcare providers and institutions.
  • Manage the distribution and inventory of product samples and promotional literature in full compliance with the Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA) and internal policies.
  • Successfully complete all required initial and ongoing training programs in product knowledge, disease state, and selling skills to maintain a high level of expertise.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the local healthcare ecosystem, including managed care formularies, reimbursement policies, and key hospital/institutional protocols that impact product access.
  • Cultivate a network of advocates for your product(s) among influential HCPs who can share their positive experiences with their peers.
  • Respond with urgency and professionalism to all customer requests, ensuring a high level of service and follow-through.
  • Consistently project a professional image for the company through your conduct, knowledge, and communication.

Secondary Functions

  • Collaborate with the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team to help facilitate responses to complex, off-label clinical inquiries from healthcare professionals.
  • Assist the marketing team by providing field-level intelligence and feedback to aid in the development and refinement of promotional campaigns and materials.
  • Participate in new hire training by sharing best practices and occasionally mentoring junior representatives in the field.
  • Manage the compliant inventory, storage, and distribution of product samples within the assigned territory.
