Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute detailed merchandising directives and planograms (POGs) with exceptional precision to ensure product placement consistency across all designated areas.
- Construct and meticulously maintain promotional, seasonal, and permanent displays, endcaps, and other special merchandising features to attract customer attention and drive sales.
- Diligently replenish shelves, racks, and displays from backroom inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure a 'shoppable' experience for every customer.
- Ensure all products on the sales floor are correctly priced, tagged, and signed according to current company standards and promotional calendars.
- Skillfully rotate stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method, monitoring product expiration dates to minimize spoilage and waste.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal of assigned aisles and sections, ensuring a safe and inviting environment for shoppers.
- Receive, unpack, and process new shipments of merchandise, carefully verifying contents against packing lists and reporting any discrepancies or damages.
- Assemble and install fixtures, shelving units, and other store equipment as required for store resets, remodels, and new merchandise arrivals.
- Collaborate effectively with store management and fellow team members to complete large-scale merchandising projects within established deadlines.
- Utilize handheld scanners and other retail technology to manage inventory, perform price checks, and update product location information in the system.
- Travel to various store locations within a designated territory to perform merchandising tasks, ensuring brand consistency across the region (if applicable).
- Capture and submit high-quality photos of completed merchandising sets and displays as documentation of compliance with corporate standards.
- Actively participate in major store initiatives, including overnight resets, remodels, and new store setups, demonstrating flexibility with scheduling.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and procedures, particularly when using ladders, box cutters, and handling heavy or bulky merchandise.
- Efficiently break down and dispose of cardboard, packaging materials, and other waste, contributing to a clean and organized backroom.
- Organize and maintain backroom stock areas to ensure product is easily accessible and the workspace remains safe and efficient for all team members.
- Proactively communicate inventory discrepancies, low stock levels, out-of-stock items, and potential replenishment issues to the management team.
