Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of merchandisers, providing daily direction, training, and constructive feedback to foster growth and ensure high-quality execution.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising strategies that align with seasonal brand directives, marketing campaigns, and overall business objectives to drive sales and profitability.
  • Analyze daily and weekly sales reports, sell-through data, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimizing product placement and inventory.
  • Strategically manage inventory levels, overseeing stock-to-sales ratios, coordinating product replenishment, and ensuring optimal stock flow from the backroom to the sales floor.
  • Plan, direct, and execute all floor sets, window display installations, and seasonal transitions in accordance with company guidelines and timelines.
  • Uphold and enforce all brand presentation and visual merchandising standards, ensuring the store consistently reflects the brand’s identity and aesthetic.
  • Act as the primary liaison between your store and regional/corporate merchandising partners, effectively communicating feedback on product performance and local market needs.
  • Train all store associates on product knowledge, brand storytelling, and the principles of maintaining visual standards to ensure a cohesive team effort.
  • Conduct regular, in-depth competitive analysis and market research to stay ahead of local trends and identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Drive store profitability by strategically placing key products, best-sellers, and new arrivals in high-traffic zones to maximize visibility and conversion.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of merchandise, including the execution of markdowns, promotions, and clearance strategies to minimize losses.
  • Ensure all visual elements, including mannequins, fixtures, signage, and lighting, are impeccably styled, maintained, and positioned for maximum impact.
  • Partner with store leadership to plan and influence the store's business strategy based on merchandising insights and floor capacity.
  • Create compelling visual displays and product stories that engage customers, facilitate an intuitive shopping experience, and drive cross-selling.
  • Maintain a highly organized and efficient stockroom environment to support seamless merchandising execution on the sales floor.
  • Lead the adaptation of corporate merchandising directives (planograms) to the unique layout and inventory levels of your specific store.
  • Conduct daily store walkthroughs to identify and resolve any merchandising or inventory challenges in real-time, ensuring the floor is always customer-ready.
  • Manage the budget for visual merchandising props, tools, and supplies, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Communicate merchandising plans and team priorities clearly and effectively during daily team huddles and management meetings.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture, using visual merchandising as a tool to enhance the overall shopping experience and build brand loyalty.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Visual Merchandising: Proven expertise in creating and implementing visually appealing and commercially effective product displays, floor sets, and window presentations.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to interpret sales data, inventory reports, and KPIs to make informed, strategic merchandising decisions.
  • Inventory Management: Proficiency with inventory management systems and principles, including stock replenishment, balancing, and SKU performance analysis.
  • Planogram Execution: Experience in reading and adapting corporate planograms or merchandising directives to a specific store environment.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:
