Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Define, own, and evangelize the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our native iOS and Android applications, ensuring tight alignment with overarching company goals and market opportunities.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept and discovery through to launch, post-launch analysis, and iterative enhancement.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, user needs, and strategic advantages in the mobile landscape.
  • Champion the user by leading discovery efforts through a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, including user interviews, surveys, A/B tests, and usability testing.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed, actionable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the engineering team, maintaining a well-organized and prioritized product backlog in JIRA or a similar tool.
  • Collaborate intimately with UX/UI designers to conceptualize and refine user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups that deliver an exceptional and intuitive user experience.
  • Act as the central point of contact between engineering, design, marketing, data science, and executive leadership, ensuring clear communication and seamless execution.
  • Define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and product metrics (e.g., DAU/MAU, retention, session length, crash rates) to measure success and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in partnership with the marketing and communications teams to ensure successful product launches and feature rollouts.
  • Manage the app store presence, including optimizing listings (ASO), crafting compelling release notes, and actively monitoring user reviews and feedback.
  • Prioritize features and bug fixes based on a deep understanding of business value, technical feasibility, and user impact.
  • Lead sprint planning, grooming sessions, and retrospectives, fostering a collaborative and efficient agile development environment.
  • Present product plans, progress, and insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in mobile technology, operating systems (iOS and Android), design guidelines, and best practices to drive innovation.
  • Work with the data analytics team to build and maintain dashboards that track the health and performance of the mobile products.
  • Identify and manage product risks, developing contingency plans to mitigate potential issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by leading A/B testing and experimentation to optimize user funnels, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Act as the product owner in an Agile/Scrum environment, making critical decisions to keep development moving forward and aligned with the vision.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners and third-party service providers to integrate new technologies and enhance product capabilities.
  • Document product functionality and train internal teams, such as customer support and sales, on new features and their value proposition.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Product Management Tools: Expert proficiency in backlog management tools like JIRA and documentation platforms like Confluence.
  • Mobile Analytics: Deep experience with mobile analytics platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics, or AppsFlyer.
  • A/B Testing: Hands-on experience designing and running A/B and multivariate tests using tools like Optimizely, Firebase A/B Testing, or proprietary systems.
  • Agile Methodologies: Mastery of Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban frameworks and rituals.
  • Wireframing/Prototyping: Familiarity with design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, or InVision.
  • SQL: Ability to write basic to intermediate SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
  • API Knowledge: Solid understanding of how mobile applications interact with APIs and backend services.
  • Mobile OS Guidelines: Strong knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (iOS) and Google's Material Design (Android).
  • App Store Management: Experience with App Store Connect and Google Play Console, including the submission, review, and release process.
  • Roadmapping Tools: Proficiency with product roadmapping software like Aha!, Productboard, or Miro.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • Experience launching a mobile application from concept (0 to 1).
  • Experience working with subscription-based or e-commerce business models on mobile.
  • Technical background or experience working as a software developer is a strong plus.
