Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Design and implement a comprehensive and progressive modern dance curriculum for various age groups and skill levels, ensuring a logical sequence of learning.
Instruct students in the foundational principles, techniques, and history of modern dance, including established methodologies such as Graham, Limón, Horton, and release-based techniques.
Choreograph original, innovative, and age-appropriate dance pieces for student showcases, annual recitals, and potential community performances, highlighting student growth and artistry.
Lead dynamic, structured, and inspiring class sessions that include thorough warm-ups, center work, across-the-floor progressions, and complex combinations.
Provide constructive, individualized, and actionable feedback to students on their technique, alignment, and artistic expression to foster tangible improvement and self-awareness.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and emotionally safe classroom environment that encourages risk-taking, self-expression, and mutual respect among all students.
