Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Continuously monitor network performance, availability, and utilization to identify potential bottlenecks, security threats, and areas for improvement using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network incidents, including hardware failures, software bugs, and connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments.
- Configure, install, and maintain a variety of network hardware and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN concentrators, and wireless access points.
- Implement and manage network security measures, such as access control lists (ACLs), firewall policies, and VPN configurations to protect data and infrastructure from unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular network maintenance and system upgrades, including applying service packs, patches, hotfixes, and firmware updates during scheduled maintenance windows to minimize business disruption.
- Maintain meticulous and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, physical and logical network diagrams, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Respond to and resolve network-related help desk tickets and service requests in a timely manner, adhering to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Analyze network traffic patterns using packet capture tools like Wireshark to diagnose intricate problems related to application performance or security anomalies.
- Manage and maintain IP address infrastructure, including DHCP scopes and DNS records, ensuring accuracy and efficient allocation of network resources.

- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours and weekend support for critical network emergencies and planned maintenance activities.
