Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute comprehensive network infrastructure plans, encompassing routing, switching, wireless, and data center architectures to support current and future business requirements.

  • Plan and oversee the seamless integration of network services for corporate mergers, acquisitions, and new site deployments, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and service transition.
  • Develop detailed cost analysis models and budget forecasts for network projects, accounting for hardware, software, licensing, and ongoing operational expenses.
  • Define, document, and maintain enterprise-wide network addressing schemes, including IPAM (IP Address Management), VLAN segmentation, and routing policies.
  • Proactively research and stay current with evolving industry trends, protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing), and vendor-specific technologies to inform strategic planning.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and a top-tier escalation point for complex network issues that require in-depth analysis and design-level troubleshooting.
  • Manage relationships with telecommunications carriers and technology vendors, evaluating service level agreements (SLAs) and participating in contract negotiations.
  • Develop and implement network automation strategies using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) to streamline provisioning, configuration, and monitoring tasks.
  • Plan, coordinate, and communicate network maintenance windows and system upgrades to minimize disruption to critical business operations.
  • Create and present detailed technical proposals and compelling business cases to senior management and other key stakeholders to justify significant network investments.
  • Develop robust network security plans in close collaboration with the cybersecurity team, integrating firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control policies directly into the network architecture.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle management of all network hardware and software, strategically planning for technology refreshes and end-of-life replacements.
