Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Continuously monitor and analyze a wide spectrum of global news sources, including traditional media, digital publications, social media, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) platforms.
  • Identify, track, and evaluate significant geopolitical, economic, and social events and trends that could impact the organization's interests.
  • Produce and disseminate timely and accurate written intelligence products, including daily news briefings, weekly summaries, and in-depth analytical reports.
  • Verify the credibility and accuracy of information and sources to ensure the integrity of all analytical products.
  • Conduct deep-dive research on specific topics, regions, or industries in response to stakeholder requests or emerging situations.
  • Present analytical findings and brief senior leadership and other internal teams on critical developments and their potential implications.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of key subject areas, including international relations, regional conflicts, economic indicators, and regulatory changes.
  • Utilize advanced search techniques and data analysis tools to uncover non-obvious relationships and patterns within large volumes of information.
  • Assess the potential impact of misinformation and disinformation campaigns and report on their origins and spread.
  • Build and maintain a network of contacts and sources to enhance information gathering and analytical depth.
  • Customize news feeds and alerts to ensure relevant and high-priority information is captured in real-time, 24/7.
  • Collaborate with other analytical teams to provide a holistic view of risks and opportunities.
  • Synthesize complex information from multiple, sometimes conflicting, sources into clear, concise, and objective assessments.
  • Author threat assessments and situational awareness reports for physical and operational security teams.
  • Maintain and update internal databases and knowledge management systems with relevant data and analysis.
  • Provide real-time event monitoring and reporting during crisis situations or major global events.
  • Translate complex political and economic developments into tangible business risks and opportunities.
  • Evaluate the sentiment and public perception of key topics, brands, or events as reflected in the media.
  • Prepare background materials and contextual information for executives ahead of meetings, interviews, or travel.
  • Contribute to the development of new analytical methodologies, tools, and reporting formats to improve the team's effectiveness.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis from various business units.
