  • Develop and maintain pixel-perfect operational and strategic reports using Oracle BI Publisher, Answers and Dashboards, ensuring accuracy of KPIs, drill paths, bursting, multi-format outputs (PDF, Excel, XML) and scheduled distribution.
  • Create and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL queries for large-scale data extraction and transformation; tune SQL for performance and collaborate with DBAs to improve database execution plans and indexing strategies.
  • Build and maintain semantic layer (RPD) including dimension modeling, hierarchies, aggregate navigation, caching strategies and logical joins to ensure consistent business definitions and high-performance query execution.
  • Implement and maintain security models for the BI platform: repository-level authentication/authorization, integration with LDAP/Active Directory, SSO / SAML / OAuth configurations, row-level and column-level security.
  • Design, develop and validate dimensional and relational data models in the data warehouse to support BI requirements; work closely with data engineering/ETL teams to define source-to-target mappings and incremental load strategies.
  • Lead requirements gathering workshops with business stakeholders to define reporting needs, KPIs, acceptance criteria and SLAs; translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliverable timelines.
  • Own the BI development lifecycle: version control (Git/Bitbucket), branching strategies, migration scripts, promotion between development/test/production environments and production deployment plans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve BI platform incidents and production issues (slow queries, failed schedules, rendering problems) with root cause analysis, corrective actions and documentation of fixes.
  • Drive OBIEE/OAC platform administration tasks including configuration, patching, cluster management, load balancing, log management and capacity planning in collaboration with infrastructure/DevOps teams.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT integration patterns using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica, or native database procedures; validate data lineage, reconciliation and auditability for all critical KPIs.
  • Lead performance tuning initiatives across the BI stack: RPD optimizations, cache strategies, presentation services tuning and orchestration of database and middleware changes to meet SLAs.
  • Create reusable report templates, reporting standards, metadata dictionaries and best-practice documentation to ensure governance, consistency and faster delivery of analytics solutions.
  • Support and execute migrations from on-premise OBIEE to Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), including compatibility assessments, migration planning, regression testing and cutover orchestration.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations that follow UX best practices, accessibility guidelines and mobile responsiveness while ensuring the design communicates insights effectively to business users.
  • Partner with data governance, security and compliance teams to enforce data protection policies, PII masking, encryption in transit/at rest and audit logging for regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior BI developers and analysts; conduct code reviews, knowledge transfer sessions and training to upskill teams on Oracle BI technologies and enterprise reporting standards.
  • Establish monitoring and alerting for report execution, ETL health, and BI platform stability using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, Grafana, Nagios).
  • Validate data quality through automated reconciliation tests, regression suites and data validation scripts to ensure reliability of reports used for critical business decisions.
  • Manage stakeholder communications, prioritize competing requests, and maintain a BI backlog in Agile frameworks; participate in sprint planning, demos and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with application owners and subject matter experts to onboard new data sources into the analytics ecosystem, including API ingestion, flat file loads, and database replication sources.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.
  • Provide end-user training, create how-to guides and run BI office-hours to increase self-service adoption.
  • Produce regular status reports, release notes and documentation for BI deliverables and platform changes.
  • Assist in vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts and selection of third-party visualization or data integration tools.
  • Contribute to cost optimization efforts for cloud-based BI services by advising on resource sizing, query optimization and licensing.
  • Assist internal audit and compliance teams with BI-related evidence, report lineage and configuration details during reviews.
