Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Pick orders accurately using handheld RF scanners, pick-to-light, or paper pick lists, verifying item, SKU, quantity, and location to achieve nightly accuracy targets and reduce customer returns.

Follow FIFO/LIFO/expiration-date protocols for perishable or serialized inventory to ensure correct product rotation, minimize spoilage, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Communicate proactively with the night operations lead and day-shift teams to document exceptions, open tickets, or inventory issues and ensure smooth handoffs at shift change.
Maintain clean and organized workstations and pick aisles, removing debris, pallet wrap, and obstructions to comply with 5S and workplace safety standards.
Execute quality inspections at packing stations to verify product condition, SKU matches, and fulfillment accuracy before final shipment acceptance.
Prepare and complete shipping documentation, including packing lists, manifests, carrier paperwork, and electronic shipment confirmations, ensuring compliance with customer and carrier requirements.
Collaborate with maintenance and safety teams to report damaged equipment, near-misses, or safety hazards and participate in nightly safety checks and toolbox talks.
Support chargeback prevention by ensuring correct cartonization, weight capture, dimensional data, and carrier selection to avoid carrier penalties and reduce freight spend.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as kaizen events, workflow redesign, and process standardization to increase throughput, reduce touches, and lower error rates.
Train and mentor new night-shift associates on picking, packing, equipment operation, WMS navigation, and safety protocols to shorten onboarding time and raise team performance.
Triage and resolve order exceptions and shortages by working with inventory control and procurement to locate alternate stock, issue replacements, or escalate to management as needed.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)
