Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Perform quality control inspections on inbound and outbound items including item verification, lot and serial number checks, and basic functional testing when required to maintain customer compliance and reduce returns.
Complete order consolidation, pallet build, and pallet breakdown duties to optimize warehouse space and prepare shipments for immediate dispatch or cross-docking.

Maintain accurate and compliant shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, carrier manifests) and ensure all paperwork is archived per company and carrier standards.
Enforce and practice safe lifting and manual handling techniques, participate in daily safety briefings, and promptly escalate safety hazards, near misses, and incidents to the safety team.
Load and unload freight using dock-levelers, lift gates, and ramps, ensuring that weight distribution and load patterns meet safety and carrier requirements to prevent accidents.
Assist with cross-dock operations by breaking down inbound pallets and immediately reconfiguring them for outbound shipment to minimize handling and improve throughput.
Support returns processing and reverse logistics by inspecting returned items, documenting condition, and routing merchandise to the correct disposition (restock, repair, recycle).
Conduct routine facility upkeep tasks during the night, such as sweeping docks, securing aisles, stacking empty pallets, and removing debris to ensure a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Coordinate with maintenance and facilities teams to report and follow-up on equipment malfunctions (conveyor issues, dock doors, lighting) that impact night shift operations.
Meet or exceed productivity, accuracy, and safety KPIs for the overnight shift, including picks per hour, on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, and incident-free workdays.
Train and mentor new night-shift associates on safe equipment operation, WMS procedures, and company-standard best practices to maintain consistent performance across shifts.
