Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Proactively engage with clients in the branch to build and deepen relationships by uncovering their immediate and long-term financial needs.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each client's financial profile, including their life events, goals, and risk tolerance, to provide personalized advice.
- Open, close, and service a wide array of consumer and business accounts, including checking, savings, money markets, and certificates of deposit (CDs).
- Process consumer loan applications, from initial consultation and application entry to documentation gathering and closing, for products like personal loans, auto loans, and home equity lines of credit.
- Master and effectively communicate the features and benefits of the bank's full suite of financial products, services, and digital banking solutions.
- Educate and guide clients on using self-service options, including online banking, mobile applications, and ATMs, to enhance their banking convenience.
- Achieve or exceed established individual and branch goals for sales, referrals, and client satisfaction through disciplined and ethical sales practices.
- Identify and qualify opportunities to refer clients to internal partners and specialists, such as Financial Advisors, Mortgage Lenders, and Business Bankers.
- Conduct outbound calls and follow-up activities to existing clients and prospects to schedule appointments, review accounts, and introduce new solutions.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of leads and client follow-ups using the bank's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Adhere strictly to all federal and state banking regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Know Your Customer (KYC), and anti-money laundering (AML) protocols.
- Resolve complex client issues and complaints efficiently and effectively, escalating when necessary to ensure a positive resolution and client retention.
- Act as a key-holder and perform branch opening and closing procedures, ensuring the security and integrity of the branch, vault, and cash drawers.
- Process routine teller transactions accurately and efficiently as needed to support branch traffic and maintain service quality.
- Participate in daily team huddles, sharing successes, discussing challenges, and strategizing to meet branch objectives.
- Actively network within the community to source new business and represent the bank at local events and functions.
- Stay current on emerging financial trends, economic news, and competitor offerings to provide relevant and timely advice.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new Tellers and other junior banking staff, sharing best practices in sales and service.
- Conduct regular financial check-ups and account reviews with clients to ensure their current solutions continue to meet their evolving needs.
- Manage risk by carefully authenticating clients, scrutinizing transactions for potential fraud, and maintaining the confidentiality of client information.
- Prepare and review daily operational reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with auditing standards.
