As a Pest Control Assistant, you are the essential right-hand to our licensed technicians, playing a critical role in the successful delivery of our pest management services. This is a trainee position designed to provide you with the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a certified Pest Control Technician. Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Assist licensed technicians in performing thorough inspections of residential and commercial structures to identify pest activity, entry points, and conducive conditions.
- Learn to correctly identify common pests, including insects, rodents, and other vermin, as well as the signs of their presence (e.g., droppings, damage, nests).
- Safely handle, mix, and load pest control products and equipment onto service vehicles under the direct supervision of a licensed applicator.
- Apply pest control treatments to interior and exterior areas, including perimeter spraying, crack and crevice treatments, and bait station placement as directed.
- Help in the installation of pest exclusion devices, such as sealing gaps, installing door sweeps, and placing physical barriers to prevent pest entry.
- Operate and maintain a variety of pest control equipment, including sprayers, dusters, and foggers, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of services performed, including areas treated, materials used, and any observations of pest activity.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, answering basic questions and referring more complex inquiries to the lead technician.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and state/federal regulations regarding pesticide application and handling.
- Prepare service areas by moving furniture, equipment, or other items to ensure effective treatment and prevent damage.
- Drive the company vehicle to and from customer locations in a safe and timely manner, maintaining the vehicle's cleanliness and organization.
- Support the lead technician in documenting inspection findings and creating service reports for clients using handheld digital devices.
- Place and monitor rodent traps and bait stations, carefully documenting activity and removing any captured rodents in a sanitary manner.
- Participate actively in all provided training sessions, including classroom learning, online modules, and on-the-job coaching, to build your expertise.
- Manage and organize service vehicle inventory, ensuring that it is adequately stocked with necessary products, tools, and safety equipment.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis by helping to gather field data on pest trends and treatment efficacy.
- Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by providing frontline feedback on mobile application usability and data collection processes.
- Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements by reporting field-level challenges and opportunities for technological improvement.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team by attending occasional feedback sessions on new field service software.
- Provide exceptional customer service by educating clients on preventative measures and what to expect post-treatment.
- Distribute informational materials and service agreements to customers as needed.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly branch office and warehouse environment.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
