Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, execute, and oversee the comprehensive photography strategy for the brand, ensuring all visual content aligns with brand identity, marketing campaigns, and overall business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the in-house team of photographers, photo editors, and studio assistants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance creative environment.
  • Direct all phases of the photo production lifecycle, from initial concept development and mood boarding to on-set art direction, post-production, and final asset delivery.
  • Manage and allocate the annual photography budget, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within financial scope, while tracking expenses and ROI.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Marketing, E-commerce, Product Development, and Social Media teams to understand their visual needs and translate them into compelling photo concepts.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce brand-specific photography guidelines to ensure a consistent, high-quality visual aesthetic across all channels and consumer touchpoints.
  • Oversee the operations of the in-house photo studio, including the management, maintenance, and procurement of all photography equipment, lighting, and software.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage a network of external resources, including freelance photographers, stylists, models, and production agencies, to scale creative output.
  • Art direct both in-studio and on-location photoshoots, providing clear creative guidance to the team to capture a wide range of product, lifestyle, and campaign imagery.
  • Implement and manage the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, ensuring all final imagery is properly archived, tagged with metadata, and easily accessible for stakeholders.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging photography trends, techniques, and technologies, continuously innovating to keep the brand’s visual identity fresh, modern, and competitive.
  • Review and approve all final retouched images, providing constructive feedback to ensure the highest standards of quality and brand consistency are met.
  • Plan and execute complex photo shoots for major campaigns, product launches, and seasonal marketing initiatives, managing all logistical aspects from location scouting to talent casting.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for photography content, analyzing asset performance and using data to inform future creative strategies.
  • Ensure all photographic content adheres to legal guidelines, including the management of model releases, property releases, and image usage rights.

Secondary Functions

  • Provide expert creative consultation and visual storytelling input for broader brand and marketing campaign planning.
  • Create and maintain detailed production schedules, call sheets, and project management workflows to ensure seamless execution of multiple simultaneous projects.

  • Expert-Level Photography & Lighting: Mastery of professional DSLR/mirrorless camera systems, studio lighting (strobes, continuous), and on-location lighting techniques.
  • Adobe Creative Suite Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, and Capture One for professional-grade retouching, color grading, and workflow management.
