Primary Functions
- Monitor, analyze, and report on host country political developments, including domestic politics, legislative processes, elections, and foreign policy orientation, providing in-depth, timely, and actionable written and oral briefings.

- Represent the mission and its interests by attending diplomatic functions, conferences, and meetings with government and non-governmental actors, articulating official policy positions with clarity and persuasiveness.
- Analyze the host country's adherence to international human rights norms and conventions, and prepare sections of congressionally mandated reports on human rights, religious freedom, and trafficking in persons.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide substantive support for high-level visits and delegations, including developing briefing materials, organizing schedules, and providing on-the-ground political context.
- Follow and report on the host country's foreign policy, including its relations with neighboring countries, major powers, and its posture in multilateral organizations like the United Nations.
