Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Analyze, map, and rigorously document existing "as-is" business processes to build a clear understanding of current workflows, identifying critical pain points, redundancies, and areas ripe for improvement.
  • Lead and facilitate engaging, cross-functional workshops and brainstorming sessions with stakeholders at all levels to gather detailed requirements, foster collaboration, and build consensus for process changes.
  • Design, model, and propose innovative "to-be" process solutions that are streamlined, scalable, and directly aligned with overarching business objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive and accessible library of process documentation, including detailed process maps, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and governance policies.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics to quantitatively measure process performance and demonstrate the tangible impact of improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis (using methodologies like 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams) to diagnose process failures or deviations and develop robust, long-term corrective and preventive actions.
  • Champion and embed a culture of continuous improvement across the organization by promoting and training teams on methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
  • Act as a central Subject Matter Expert (SME) on business processes, providing critical guidance, insight, and support to team members, project managers, and leadership.
  • Manage a portfolio of process improvement projects from ideation through to successful implementation and post-launch review, ensuring projects meet their objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Evaluate the organizational impact of proposed process changes, considering the effects on people, systems, and policies, and contribute to the development of effective change management strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, software development, and data teams to translate business process needs into functional and technical requirements for new technology solutions or automations.
  • Develop and deliver clear, compelling training materials and programs to effectively educate employees on new or revised processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Perform comprehensive gap analyses, comparing current state processes against industry best practices, competitor benchmarks, or regulatory requirements to inform strategic direction.
  • Create persuasive business cases and project charters for new improvement initiatives, clearly articulating the problem, proposed solution, and expected return on investment.
  • Utilize process mining and data analytics tools to uncover data-driven, objective insights into how processes are actually performing, moving beyond anecdotal evidence.
  • Facilitate process-level risk assessments to proactively identify potential points of failure, compliance breaches, or operational risks, and design effective mitigation controls.
  • Translate complex process data and technical information into clear, concise, and visually appealing presentations for senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Govern the entire process lifecycle, establishing a clear framework for how new processes are requested, designed, approved, implemented, and eventually retired.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts or team members on process improvement principles, tools, and techniques, helping to build a more capable and process-aware organization.
  • Partner with department heads to understand their strategic priorities and proactively identify opportunities where process optimization can help them achieve their goals.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and perform exploratory data analysis to answer specific business questions.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the organization's overarching operational excellence strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate high-level process needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements for technology teams.
  • Participate actively in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies within project or technology teams.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that newly implemented technology solutions meet the defined process requirements.
  • Provide essential support during internal and external audits by retrieving process documentation and evidence of compliance and control effectiveness.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Business Process Modeling & Notation (BPMN): Mastery of creating clear, standardized process maps using tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS, or similar BPM software.
  • Lean Six Sigma Methodologies: Proven ability to apply principles like DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, and waste reduction. A Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly advantageous.
  • Data Analysis & Visualization: Strong proficiency in using tools like Excel (advanced functions, PivotTables), SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to analyze performance data.
