Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement specialists and buyers, overseeing daily activities, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
  • Supervise the entire procure-to-pay (P2P) process, from purchase requisition to payment, identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories to achieve significant cost savings, mitigate supply chain risks, and meet organizational quality standards.
  • Manage and cultivate strategic relationships with key suppliers, leading negotiation of terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) to secure the most advantageous conditions for the company.
  • Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, quality, and cost, conducting regular business reviews and implementing corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining meticulous documentation for audit purposes.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier landscapes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, new supplier development, and product or service innovation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing expert guidance on procurement processes, policies, and sourcing strategies to support their departmental needs.
  • Oversee the competitive bidding process, including the creation and management of Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Resolve complex procurement-related issues, such as supplier disputes, delivery failures, or quality problems, by collaborating with suppliers and internal departments like legal and quality assurance.
  • Manage the purchase order lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and timely issuance to vendors, while also handling order amendments and discrepancies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function by leveraging data analysis, new technologies, and best practices to streamline workflows and enhance value.
  • Develop and present regular reports to management on procurement metrics, including spend analysis, savings achieved, supplier performance, and team productivity.
  • Partner closely with the finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate cost allocation, budget tracking, and timely invoice processing.
  • Champion the adoption and effective use of procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa), providing training and support to the team and end-users.
  • Assess and manage supply chain risks by diversifying the supplier base, establishing contingency plans, and monitoring geopolitical or economic factors that could impact supply.
  • Lead supplier qualification and onboarding processes, conducting due diligence to ensure potential partners meet the organization's financial, quality, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize stock levels, reduce carrying costs, and ensure material availability for production or operational needs.
  • Support new product development and project-based initiatives by sourcing new materials, technologies, and service providers that align with project timelines and budgets.
  • Facilitate training sessions for the broader organization on procurement policies and best practices to promote compliance and empower self-service where appropriate.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
