Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability tests, to uncover customer pain points and validate hypotheses.
  • Analyze user behavior, market trends, and competitive landscapes to identify and champion new product opportunities and feature enhancements.
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to conceptualize and iterate on user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups that solve complex user problems.
  • Author clear, detailed, and concise product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria for the engineering team.
  • Partner with engineering leads to assess feasibility, manage scope, and ensure features are built to specification and of high quality.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze key product metrics and KPIs to measure the success of features and inform future product decisions.
  • Assist in managing and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring it aligns with the strategic vision and immediate business goals.
  • Participate actively in all agile and scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Support go-to-market activities by working with marketing, sales, and customer support to ensure successful feature launches and user adoption.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the product roadmap under the guidance and mentorship of a senior product manager.
  • Synthesize feedback from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to create a holistic view of product needs and priorities.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to communicate product strategy, project status, and launch plans to the broader team and leadership.
  • Design and help execute A/B tests and other experiments to optimize user funnels, engagement, and overall product experience.
  • Act as a key point of contact for triaging bugs and user-reported issues, working with engineering to prioritize fixes.
  • Engage with our user community through various channels to build relationships, gather direct feedback, and foster product advocacy.
  • Own a specific feature or small-scale product initiative from discovery and definition through to launch and post-launch analysis.
  • Create and maintain internal documentation, knowledge bases, and training materials to support new features and functionalities.
  • Perform comprehensive competitive analysis to benchmark our product against others in the market and identify areas for differentiation.
  • Translate business objectives and user needs into a cohesive and actionable product strategy for your area of ownership.
  • Shadow and learn from experienced product leaders to understand the nuances of product strategy, stakeholder management, and team leadership.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer critical business questions.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by identifying new data needs.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Google Analytics, Tableau, Amplitude, Mixpanel).
  • Experience with product management and collaboration software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Confluence, Trello).
  • Foundational understanding of agile and scrum development methodologies.
  • Ability to create wireframes, user flows, or prototypes using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Balsamiq.
  • Proficient in creating and delivering data-driven reports and presentations (e.g., using PowerPoint, Google Slides).
  • Basic understanding of technical concepts and software development principles.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree.

Preferred Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with an expected graduation date within the next 1-2 years.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 0-1 years of relevant experience. Previous internships, significant academic projects, leadership in student organizations, or personal projects are highly valued.

Preferred:

  • Prior internship experience in product management, software engineering, UX design, data analysis, or a related tech role is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated passion for technology and product development through coursework, hackathons, personal projects, or writing.
