Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, long-range (1-3 year) product roadmap, aligning it with company vision, market opportunities, and strategic goals.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer pain points, and new product opportunities.
  • Own the product definition phase, creating detailed market requirement documents (MRDs) and product requirement documents (PRDs) that articulate user needs and business value.
  • Formulate compelling business cases for new product initiatives, including market sizing, financial modeling, ROI analysis, and go-to-market assumptions.
  • Act as the central "voice of the customer" and "voice of the market," translating qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, and Product Management teams to ensure the strategic vision is clearly understood and technically feasible.
  • Define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product performance, user engagement, and strategic success post-launch.
  • Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept ideation and strategic planning through to end-of-life (EOL) decisions for the product portfolio.
  • Present product strategy, roadmap updates, and business case proposals to executive leadership and key stakeholders to secure buy-in and alignment.
  • Lead the annual and quarterly product planning process, facilitating cross-functional workshops to prioritize features and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform continuous SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis on our product lines and those of key competitors.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to define target customer segments, user personas, and a compelling positioning and messaging strategy.
  • Evaluate and prioritize an influx of feature requests from customers, sales, and internal stakeholders against the established strategic framework.
  • Drive alignment across diverse departments including Sales, Marketing, Support, and Operations to ensure a cohesive and successful product launch.
  • Monitor technological advancements and disruptive innovations that could impact the product's future trajectory and competitive advantage.
  • Develop pricing and packaging strategies based on market analysis, value metrics, and competitive positioning.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on the market, the competitive landscape, and the core problems the product aims to solve.
  • Work with user research teams to design and execute studies, surveys, and customer interviews to validate hypotheses and uncover unmet needs.
  • Maintain a clear and organized repository of market data, competitive intelligence, and strategic product documentation.
  • Partner with supply chain and operations teams to forecast demand and ensure product readiness for market launch, especially for hardware products.
