Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure robust compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and specific customer requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the quality control team, overseeing hiring, training, performance evaluations, and daily work allocation to ensure departmental objectives are consistently met.
- Establish and enforce stringent quality standards, inspection criteria, and testing protocols for all stages of production, including incoming raw materials, in-process manufacturing, and final product validation.
- Oversee the comprehensive investigation of all non-conforming products and materials, leading structured root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to identify systemic issues and prevent future occurrences.
- Direct the implementation and lifecycle management of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans, ensuring thorough investigation, effective solutions, and timely closure with verification of effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and lead representative for all internal, customer, and third-party regulatory audits, maintaining a state of constant audit readiness across the facility.
- Analyze key quality performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, first-pass yield, and cost of poor quality to identify trends, generate insightful reports, and present findings to senior leadership.
- Collaborate proactively with production, engineering, and supply chain departments to resolve quality issues, optimize manufacturing processes, and integrate quality principles into new product development.
- Manage the supplier quality assurance program, which includes supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and conducting supplier audits to guarantee the integrity of the supply chain.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by deploying methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen events to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring strategic and efficient allocation of resources for staffing, training, new technology, and testing equipment.
- Guarantee that all measurement and test equipment is properly calibrated, validated, and maintained according to a defined schedule and internal procedures to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Review and formally approve all critical quality-related documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, inspection plans, and validation protocols.
- Act as the internal advocate for the customer, translating customer feedback, complaints, and quality concerns into actionable improvements within the organization's processes and products.
- Oversee the document control system to ensure all quality records are accurately created, maintained, readily accessible for audits, and compliant with all data retention policies.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Deep expertise in implementing, managing, and auditing QMS frameworks such as ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or relevant industry equivalents.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Proven proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies including 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis to uncover underlying process failures.
- Continuous Improvement: Strong practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt certification is a strong asset) to drive data-based improvements.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC): The ability to effectively apply statistical tools to monitor process stability, analyze variability, and make data-driven decisions for process control.
