Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Partner strategically with Regional Sales Managers to develop and execute territory plans, identify new opportunities, and achieve revenue targets.
  • Lead the technical discovery process with prospective customers to uncover critical business issues, technical requirements, and potential roadblocks.
  • Design and architect comprehensive technical solutions tailored to individual customer needs, integrating our products with their existing infrastructure.
  • Deliver compelling and customized technical product demonstrations and presentations to a wide range of audiences, from technical engineers to C-level executives.
  • Plan, manage, and execute successful Proof of Concepts (POCs) and product evaluations, defining success criteria and ensuring customer objectives are met.
  • Articulate the company's technology, strategic direction, and the competitive advantages of our solutions in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Respond comprehensively to the technical sections of formal RFIs, RFPs, and security questionnaires, ensuring accuracy and highlighting solution strengths.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key technical champions and decision-makers within customer and partner organizations.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial qualification to deal closure, ensuring technical validation at every stage.
  • Create and present detailed solution designs, network diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs) to support sales proposals.
  • Maintain a deep, expert-level understanding of the company's full product portfolio, as well as the competitive landscape and industry trends.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential technical hurdles during the pre-sales process to ensure a smooth and efficient sales cycle.
  • Conduct and lead in-depth technical training sessions and workshops for customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Provide a seamless technical handover to the post-sales (Professional Services/Support) teams upon securing a new customer.
  • Travel regularly within the assigned region to support sales activities, attend customer meetings, and participate in industry events and trade shows.

Secondary Functions

  • Capture and relay valuable product feedback and feature requests from the field back to the Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Contribute to a shared repository of technical knowledge, best practices, and demonstration assets for the benefit of the global Systems Engineering team.
  • Assist in the development and curation of technical sales enablement materials, including whitepapers, best practice guides, and presentation decks.
  • Act as a mentor for new or junior members of the Systems Engineering team, providing guidance and support.
  • Support marketing initiatives by presenting at webinars, seminars, and user group meetings as a technical subject matter expert.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Solution Architecture: Proven ability to design complex, multi-product solutions for enterprise environments.
  • Networking Expertise: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and network security concepts.
  • Security Technologies: Hands-on experience with Firewalls (NGFW), VPNs, IDS/IPS, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).
  • Cloud Platforms: Strong working knowledge of public cloud architectures and services (AWS, Azure, GCP), including networking and security components.
  • Virtualization: Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, vCenter, and NSX.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and API integration is highly desirable.
  • Authentication Protocols: Solid understanding of authentication and identity management systems like SAML, LDAP, RADIUS, and Active Directory.
  • Technical Demonstration: Mastery of creating and delivering effective, live technical demonstrations and proofs-of-concept.

  • SD-WAN/SASE: In-depth knowledge of Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architectures and principles.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 5-10 years of experience in a relevant technical role.

  • Proven track record of supporting enterprise sales cycles and successfully delivering on technical validation activities.
  • Experience working for a technology vendor in the networking or cybersecurity space.
