Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct detailed on-site pre-installation surveys, measure mounting locations, evaluate electrical panels, attic and roof access, and document potential code or structural issues prior to installation.
- Install, wire and ground residential systems including photovoltaic arrays, battery storage systems, inverters, AC/DC disconnects, conduit, and associated electrical components in compliance with NEC and local jurisdiction requirements.

- Install and configure residential routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, mesh systems, set-top boxes, and smart-home hubs; verify internet connectivity, signal strength, and QoS parameters.
- Mount and configure security and surveillance hardware: cameras, door/window sensors, motion detectors, control panels, and alarm communicators; test detection zones and tamper circuits.
- Precisely layout and install HVAC mini-split systems and ductless units, run refrigerant lines, evacuate systems and perform leak checks and pressure tests as required by manufacturer specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans and wiring diagrams; translate plans into accurate hardware placement and electrical connections during installation.

- Coordinate scheduling and logistics with dispatch and project managers to ensure on-time arrivals, proper permit status, and material availability for same-day installs or follow-up.
- Assemble and test backup power solutions and transfer switches, confirm safe isolation from the grid where applicable, and validate automatic transfer functionality in generator or battery systems.
- Perform post-install inspection and punch-list remediation: correct loose connections, replace damaged components, and retest to ensure long-term reliability.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices in installation best practices, safety procedures, tool use, and customer interaction techniques.
- Follow manufacturer installation manuals and warranty requirements to preserve customer warranties and reduce future service calls.
- Respond to emergency service requests for outages, safety hazards, or failed equipment, applying diagnostic triage and repair techniques to restore service quickly and safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle stock of parts, materials, and tools; perform basic vehicle maintenance checks relevant to job readiness.
