Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately and efficiently pick merchandise for customer orders from store shelves or stockroom locations using a handheld RF scanner, mobile device, or printed pick list.
- Expertly pack customer orders to prevent damage, selecting appropriate shipping materials and ensuring a professional, high-quality presentation upon delivery.
- Process and prepare packages for shipment, which includes verifying order accuracy, applying shipping labels, and sorting packages by carrier and service type.
- Operate Order Management Systems (OMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to manage the order queue, update order statuses, and track fulfillment progress.
- Execute "Buy Online, Pick Up In Store" (BOPIS) and curbside pickup orders, ensuring they are ready for the customer within the promised timeframe and communicating with front-of-house staff.
- Handle and process customer returns, inspecting merchandise for quality, and accurately returning items to inventory or designated disposition areas.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain stock level accuracy and report any discrepancies to leadership for resolution.
- Meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), including orders per hour, fill rate, and shipping accuracy, to support team and company goals.
- Collaborate with fellow fulfillment associates, store staff, and leadership to troubleshoot and resolve order issues, such as out-of-stock items or system errors.
- Monitor and manage all stages of the fulfillment lifecycle, from order receipt and processing to packing, quality control, and final dispatch.
- Ensure all fulfilled orders comply with company standards for quality, presentation, and accuracy before leaving the facility.
- Process incoming shipments, transfers, and replenishment stock, ensuring it is received accurately and put away in the correct locations to be available for fulfillment.
Secondary Functions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized workstation and overall fulfillment area to promote efficiency and prevent workplace accidents.
- Proactively monitor and replenish shipping supplies, such as boxes, mailers, tape, and dunnage, to avoid workflow interruptions.
- Assist in staging, loading, and consolidating completed orders for carrier pickup at designated times throughout the day.
- Flexibly support other store or warehouse functions as needed, including stockroom organization, replenishment, and assisting on the sales floor during peak times.
- Participate actively in team meetings and continuous improvement training sessions to stay current with evolving processes and technologies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and loss prevention policies to protect company assets and ensure a secure working environment.
