Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Directly assist the Sales Manager in leading, directing, and motivating the sales team to achieve and exceed established sales objectives and quotas.
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of strategic sales plans and initiatives designed to expand the customer base and ensure the company’s strong market presence.
  • Take ownership of sales forecasting activities, analyze performance metrics, and set challenging yet attainable performance goals for individual team members.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with key client accounts, acting as a senior point of contact to ensure satisfaction, retention, and identification of up-sell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Conduct regular, impactful sales meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions to provide product training, reinforce effective sales techniques, and communicate company updates.
  • Analyze complex sales data, market trends, and competitive intelligence to identify untapped opportunities and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Play a key role in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for new sales representatives, ensuring a smooth integration into the team and culture.
  • Provide continuous performance management, including conducting performance reviews, creating development plans, and offering constructive feedback to foster professional growth.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and complex complaints with professionalism and tact, working to find resolutions that preserve customer loyalty.
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports, pipeline analyses, and performance dashboards to the Sales Manager and executive team.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing department to align on lead generation campaigns, promotional activities, and the development of effective sales collateral.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product offerings to help position our solutions competitively within the marketplace.
  • Oversee the sales team's utilization of the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce), ensuring data integrity, accurate pipeline management, and leveraging analytics for strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in negotiating and closing complex deals and contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and aligned with company policies.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to build brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
  • Support the Sales Manager in developing the annual sales budget and diligently managing team expenses to stay within financial guidelines.
  • Mentor junior sales staff, sharing best practices and providing guidance to help them advance in their careers.
  • Step in to manage the sales team and handle leadership responsibilities in the Sales Manager's absence, ensuring operational continuity.

Secondary Functions

  • Sales Analytics & Forecasting: Demonstrated ability to analyze sales data, interpret trends, and build accurate sales forecasts using tools like Excel, Tableau, or similar BI software.
  • Contract Negotiation: Proven skill in negotiating contract terms, pricing, and service level agreements with a variety of client stakeholders.
