Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Architect and design comprehensive, end-to-end solutions within the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem to meet and exceed complex business requirements.
Lead the development and execution of the strategic SAP technical architecture, multi-year roadmap, and governance framework.
Provide expert-level guidance on SAP best practices for solution design, implementation, and integration across core modules like FI/CO, SD, MM, EWM, and PP.
Collaborate with C-level executives, business stakeholders, and project managers to translate strategic business needs into scalable, secure, and resilient technical specifications.
Govern the entire SAP landscape to ensure system integrity, optimal performance, and strict alignment with overarching enterprise architecture standards.
Evaluate, recommend, and champion the adoption of new SAP technologies, cloud services, and third-party add-ons to enhance business capabilities and foster innovation.
Define, document, and enforce architecture principles, standards, and patterns for all SAP-related development, configuration, and integration projects.
Design and oversee the implementation of complex integrations between SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, MES, WMS, cloud platforms) using SAP BTP, Integration Suite (CPI), and modern API strategies.
Lead and facilitate technical design workshops, architecture review boards, and solution playback sessions with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural blueprints.
Develop and present proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and prototypes to validate new architectural approaches and emerging technologies within the SAP ecosystem.
Act as the primary technical leader throughout the lifecycle of SAP projects, from initial ideation and design through to deployment, hypercare, and continuous improvement.
Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including solution blueprints, technical design documents (TDDs), data models, and integration flow diagrams.
Serve as the highest point of technical escalation for critical, complex SAP-related production issues, providing in-depth root cause analysis and strategic resolution.
Mentor, coach, and guide senior developers and functional consultants, cultivating a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous professional growth.
Assess the business and technical impact of proposed changes on the existing SAP landscape, providing data-driven recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure stability.
Define and own the master strategy for data governance, data migration, and data quality management for large-scale SAP transformation programs (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA migrations).

Partner with infrastructure and cloud engineering teams to define technical requirements for system hosting, landscape sizing, disaster recovery, and performance tuning of the SAP environment.

Lead the technical evaluation, due diligence, and selection process for third-party vendors and solutions that will integrate with or supplement the SAP ecosystem.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

Deep, demonstrable expertise in SAP S/4HANA architecture (both on-premise and cloud), including migration strategies (Greenfield, Brownfield, Selective Data Transition).
Extensive hands-on experience with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), particularly the SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and Extension Suite for developing custom applications.
Strong proficiency in designing cross-functional solutions across multiple core SAP modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales).
Mastery of SAP integration technologies, including modern API-based integration (OData, REST) and traditional methods (IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs).
