Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead and participate in full-cycle SAP FICO implementation projects, from the initial business blueprinting and requirements gathering phase through to realization, final preparation, go-live, and post-implementation support.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of complex business processes and requirements for finance and accounting, and subsequently design, configure, and customize SAP FICO modules to meet those needs.
  • Perform hands-on configuration of core SAP Financial Accounting (FI) components, including the General Ledger (G/L), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting.
  • Master the configuration and implementation of SAP Controlling (CO) modules, such as Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
  • Develop comprehensive and detailed functional specifications for custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW) to be developed by the technical team.
  • Act as the primary liaison with business stakeholders in the finance and accounting departments to ensure the proposed SAP solution aligns perfectly with their strategic objectives and operational needs.
  • Design and execute rigorous unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios to validate system functionality and ensure a high-quality, error-free deployment.
  • Provide expert-level, tier-3 production support for the SAP FICO module, diligently troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues to minimize business disruption.
  • Manage and configure the critical integration points between the FICO modules and other key SAP modules, including Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and Production Planning (PP).
  • Lead client-facing workshops and meetings to gather requirements, demonstrate system functionality, and facilitate key design decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business process designs, functional specifications, configuration guides, and training materials.
  • Facilitate data migration activities for FICO master data (e.g., GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers) and transactional data from legacy systems into SAP.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training sessions and create supporting documentation to ensure successful user adoption and proficiency with the new system.
  • Stay abreast of the latest SAP innovations, particularly in the S/4HANA Finance space, and advise clients on potential system improvements, optimizations, and roadmap strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing SAP FICO installations, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, streamline processes, and leverage unused functionality.
  • Evaluate and recommend new SAP functionalities and third-party solutions to address evolving business challenges and opportunities within the finance domain.
  • Collaborate closely with ABAP developers to debug code, explain functional requirements for technical developments, and test custom solutions.
  • Ensure all system configurations and developments adhere to established best practices, architectural standards, and compliance/regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, IFRS).
  • Manage system changes and transports through the SAP landscape (Development, QA, Production) using established change management procedures.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing support activities within the SAP system, assisting the finance team in resolving any related issues.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to provide business insights.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader ERP and data strategy, offering expert opinions on the financial systems roadmap.
  • Collaborate with other SAP functional and technical teams to ensure end-to-end business process integrity and system cohesion.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies within a project or support team environment.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep, hands-on configuration expertise in SAP FI modules: General Ledger (new G/L), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA).
  • Profound configuration and implementation knowledge of SAP CO modules: Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
  • Strong understanding of the integration points between FICO and other core SAP modules like SD (Sales & Distribution), MM (Materials Management), and PP (Production Planning).
  • Experience with creating functional specifications for RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (Simple Finance), including the Universal Journal, Central Finance, and Fiori apps.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools within SAP, such as Report Painter/Report Writer, and an understanding of BW/BPC integration.
  • Ability to perform basic debugging of ABAP code to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of system issues.
  • Experience with data migration tools and methodologies, such as LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench).
  • Understanding of project implementation methodologies, including SAP Activate, ASAP, and Agile frameworks.
  • Knowledge of country-specific legal and tax requirements and their configuration in SAP.
  • Experience with validation and substitution rules, as well as electronic bank statement (EBS) configuration.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
