Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead and facilitate in-depth business process workshops and requirements gathering sessions with key stakeholders to understand and document their needs.
  • Perform detailed analysis of complex business requirements and design robust, scalable, and efficient solutions within the SAP framework.
  • Configure and customize core SAP modules (e.g., FICO, SD, MM, PP, WM, EWM) to align with evolving business processes and strategic objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive and detailed functional specifications for Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW) objects.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business users and the technical ABAP development team to ensure custom solutions are developed and implemented according to specifications.
  • Plan, create, and execute rigorous unit testing, integration testing (SIT), and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions are high-quality and defect-free.
  • Provide critical post-go-live support, including advanced troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performing root cause analysis for production problems.
  • Create and diligently maintain all project-related documentation, including Business Process Designs, Configuration Rationale, Functional Specifications, and end-user training guides.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions for business end-users and super-users to ensure successful adoption of new SAP functionalities.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis to identify discrepancies between business requirements and standard SAP functionality, proposing viable workarounds or custom solutions.
  • Manage and execute data migration activities, including data mapping, cleansing, transformation, and loading using tools like LSMW or LTMC.
  • Participate actively in all phases of full-cycle SAP implementation projects, from initial blueprinting and design to final deployment and hypercare support.
  • Analyze the end-to-end impact of proposed system changes on integrated business processes and dependent SAP modules.
  • Collaborate with SAP Basis and Security teams to manage transport requests and ensure the integrity and security of the SAP system landscape.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for business process improvements and system optimizations within the SAP ecosystem to drive efficiency and value.
  • Stay current with the latest SAP innovations, technologies, and best practices, with a strong focus on S/4HANA capabilities and migration paths.
  • Provide expert-level guidance to business and IT leadership on SAP capabilities, advising on strategic decisions that align with long-term goals.
  • Debug complex functional issues, often collaborating with technical teams by reading and interpreting ABAP code to expedite problem resolution.
  • Manage small to medium-sized enhancement projects or lead a specific workstream within a larger program, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Define and document application test strategies, create detailed test scripts, and lead testing efforts while managing defect tracking and resolution cycles.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc reporting and data extraction requests from the business using standard SAP tools.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the organization's long-term SAP strategy and technology roadmap.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Intelligence (BI), Basis, and Security, to ensure cohesive and integrated solution delivery.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies as part of project delivery teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Expert-level configuration and customization experience in one or more core SAP modules (e.g., FICO, SD, MM, PP, WM, EWM).
  • Strong understanding of the integration points and dependencies between various SAP modules.
  • Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA (Finance, Logistics, etc.), including knowledge of Fiori applications.
  • Ability to author high-quality, detailed Functional Specification (FS) documents for RICEFW objects.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP implementation methodologies such as SAP Activate or ASAP.
  • Proficiency in data migration strategies and tools, such as LSMW, BDC, or S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC).
  • Experience in creating comprehensive test plans and test scripts for all phases of testing (Unit, SIT, UAT).
  • Foundational ability to debug ABAP code to diagnose and troubleshoot complex functional issues.
  • Knowledge of SAP integration technologies, including IDocs, BAPIs, and APIs.
  • Familiarity with SAP reporting and analytics tools (e.g., SAP Query, Report Painter, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Understanding of SAP security concepts, including roles and authorizations.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:

  • Master's Degree or relevant, active SAP Certification (e.g., C_TS4FI, C_TS462, C_TS452).

  • At least one full-cycle S/4HANA implementation or migration project.
