Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Greet all guests with a warm, genuine, and professional demeanor, establishing a positive and welcoming atmosphere in all resort recreational areas.
  • Proactively engage with guests to answer questions, provide detailed information about resort amenities, daily activities, and local attractions.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic appeal of the pool deck, beach, and cabana areas, including arranging lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tables.
  • Distribute and manage the inventory of fresh towels, ensuring a constant and readily available supply for guests throughout the day.
  • Assist guests with the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas, ensuring their comfort and providing a personalized service touch.
  • Regularly patrol assigned areas to ensure all facilities are clean, safe, and functioning correctly, reporting any maintenance or safety issues to management immediately.
  • Enforce all resort rules and safety regulations, particularly around pool and water areas, in a polite yet firm manner to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, inquiries, and concerns, resolving issues directly when possible or escalating them to a supervisor when necessary.
  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders for guests in poolside or beachside settings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Manage the rental and return process for recreational equipment, such as cabanas, kayaks, paddleboards, or bicycles, including processing payments and providing safety instructions.
  • Actively promote and upsell resort services, activities, and retail items to enhance the guest experience and contribute to revenue goals.
  • Prepare and maintain recreational areas for opening and closing each day, following established checklists to ensure readiness and security.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist the recreation team in the setup, execution, and breakdown of special events, daily activities, and guest programming.
  • Provide basic first aid for minor injuries if certified, and promptly contact emergency services and management for more serious incidents.
  • Meticulously document and report any incidents, accidents, or guest feedback using the resort's official communication channels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all attendant stations, towel huts, and storage areas.
  • Support other departments, such as Housekeeping or Food & Beverage, during peak times or as directed by management to ensure seamless resort operations.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and required training sessions to stay informed on daily events, promotions, and updated operational procedures.
  • Replenish supplies, including sunscreen, water, and other guest amenities, at designated stations throughout the day.
  • Perform light maintenance duties, such as hosing down decks, cleaning outdoor furniture, and managing waste and recycling receptacles.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Point of Sale (POS) Operation: Competency in operating POS systems for order taking and payment processing.
  • Safety and Rule Enforcement: Knowledge of and ability to enforce safety protocols, particularly concerning water safety.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification: Possession of a current First Aid and CPR/AED certification is highly desirable.
  • Basic Maintenance: Ability to perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep areas pristine and functional.
  • Cash Handling: Experience with accurately handling cash and credit card transactions.

Experience Requirements
