Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively engage with customers to create a welcoming and personalized shopping environment, assessing their needs and offering tailored product suggestions.
  • Drive sales and achieve personal/store sales goals by utilizing advanced product knowledge and effective selling techniques to upsell and cross-sell.
  • Function as a brand expert, passionately communicating product features, benefits, brand history, and current promotions to every customer.
  • Build and cultivate lasting customer relationships (clienteling) by capturing contact information and performing personalized outreach for new arrivals and events.
  • Masterfully operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to efficiently and accurately process transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Deliver an outstanding fitting room experience by managing occupancy, providing product alternatives, and ensuring a clean and organized space.
  • Actively listen to customer feedback and concerns, resolving issues with empathy and professionalism to ensure a positive resolution and brand loyalty.
  • Guide customers through the entire sales journey, from initial greeting and product discovery to a seamless and memorable checkout process.
  • Support in-store events, promotions, and product launches by actively engaging participants and contributing to a high-energy atmosphere.
  • Consistently model a customer-first mindset, going above and beyond to exceed customer expectations and create memorable shopping moments.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of store sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs), and understand your personal contribution to them.
  • Assist customers with omnichannel services, including online order fulfillment, buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS), and ship-from-store.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist in the execution of visual merchandising directives, including setting up displays, arranging mannequins, and ensuring the sales floor is visually appealing.
  • Participate in regular restocking of the sales floor to ensure all sizes, styles, and colors are available and presented according to brand standards.
  • Maintain impeccable store cleanliness and organizational standards across the sales floor, stockroom, and fitting rooms.
  • Support inventory management processes, including receiving and processing new shipments, conducting cycle counts, and organizing the stockroom.
  • Prepare the store for opening and closing procedures, ensuring all operational and visual tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and management, communicating clearly to support a cohesive and productive work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on loss prevention and asset protection protocols.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to better serve customers and contribute to team strategy.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed by the store management team to meet the dynamic needs of the business.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and product knowledge seminars to continuously enhance your skills and expertise.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Point of Sale (POS) Systems: Experience operating retail POS software for transactions, returns, and inventory look-ups.
  • Cash Handling: Proficiency in accurately handling cash, credit card transactions, and end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with using tablets, computers, and retail-specific applications for communication and inventory management.
  • Visual Merchandising: A basic understanding of visual display principles to maintain store aesthetics and product presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Experience with or ability to quickly learn processes for receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.

Typical Experience Range:
