Core Responsibilities

As a key member of our back-of-house team, you will be entrusted with a wide range of duties that keep our store running efficiently. Your primary focus will be on the precise and timely management of all product inventory.

  • Diligently receive and process all incoming merchandise shipments, meticulously verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Efficiently unpack, steam, tag, and apply security sensors to new arrivals, preparing them for a flawless presentation on the sales floor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom environment, implementing organizational standards that make merchandise easy to locate and access.
  • Execute the timely and strategic movement of products from the stockroom to the sales floor, performing replenishment to ensure a full and appealing shopping experience.
  • Actively support omnichannel services by accurately picking, packing, and preparing online orders for customer pickup (BOPIS) and shipment (Ship from Store).
  • Assist the visual merchandising team with the execution of floor sets, window displays, and in-store marketing updates according to company directives.
  • Participate actively in regular physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits to maintain inventory accuracy and help minimize shrink.
  • Communicate effectively with sales associates and management regarding new product arrivals, low stock levels, and out-of-stock items.
  • Process customer returns, damaged goods, and defective merchandise according to company policy, preparing items for return-to-vendor (RTV) or markdown.
  • Uphold all loss prevention protocols and safety procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent theft, and ensure a secure work environment for everyone.
  • Skillfully utilize handheld RF scanners and other inventory management technology to accurately track product movement throughout the store.
  • Proactively monitor stock levels on the sales floor throughout the day and anticipate replenishment needs to prevent lost sales opportunities.
  • Assemble and break down fixtures, mannequins, and promotional signage as needed for seasonal transitions and marketing campaigns.
  • Consolidate back-stocked merchandise efficiently to maximize stockroom space and improve the speed of replenishment tasks.
  • Ensure all merchandise presentation on the sales floor meets brand standards, including correct folding, hanging, sizing, and placement.
  • Manage the disposal and recycling of cardboard, plastic, and other packaging materials in an environmentally conscious manner.
  • Assist in processing inter-store transfers, ensuring items are correctly documented, packed, and shipped to the destination store.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and ability to maintain a brisk pace to meet the high-volume demands of the seasonal retail business.
  • Provide backup support on the sales floor during peak customer traffic, helping customers find products and maintaining store cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify logistical challenges and contribute ideas for improving back-of-house workflows and efficiency.
  • Maintain a comprehensive awareness of all current promotions, sale events, and new collections to support the team effectively.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Inventory Management Systems: Experience with or ability to quickly learn inventory software and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • RF Scanner Proficiency: Prior experience using handheld RF scanners for tracking, receiving, and counting stock is highly desirable.
  • Omnichannel Fulfillment: Familiarity with Buy Online, Pick-Up In-Store (BOPIS) and Ship-from-Store (SFS) processes.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Competency in using basic computer applications for communication and data entry.
  • Receiving & Shipping Procedures: Knowledge of standard protocols for processing incoming and outgoing shipments.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional Organization: The ability to create and maintain order in a fast-paced, high-volume stockroom.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in counting, tracking, and handling merchandise to ensure accuracy and prevent loss.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Education:

  • Some college coursework is a plus.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a retail stockroom, warehouse, or logistics environment is highly advantageous.
