Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Receive and process inbound freight, meticulously unloading trucks and containers while verifying shipments against purchase orders or manifests for accuracy.
  • Utilize Radio Frequency (RF) scanning equipment to accurately track product movement, including receiving, stowing, picking, and shipping items within the warehouse.
  • Efficiently pick customer orders from shelves and storage locations, ensuring the correct quantity and product type are selected to meet high standards of order accuracy.
  • Carefully pack and prepare customer orders for shipment, selecting appropriate packing materials to prevent damage and ensuring all items are secure.
  • Affix shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documentation to outbound packages, verifying addresses and shipping methods for correctness.
  • Operate manual and electric pallet jacks, dollies, and other material handling equipment (MHE) to safely move inventory throughout the facility.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including clearing aisles, properly stacking materials, and reporting potential hazards.
  • Perform regular inventory cycle counts and stock-taking activities to assist the inventory control team in maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Sort and place incoming merchandise onto racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Proactively identify and report any product damage, defects, or discrepancies to a team lead or supervisor for timely resolution.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily and weekly performance targets for productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Flexibly rotate through various warehouse functions, including picking, packing, stowing, and shipping, based on operational needs and daily priorities.
  • Consistently meet or exceed established performance metrics for tasks per hour (UPH), quality, and attendance.
  • Load sorted and packed orders onto outbound trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement.
  • Follow all company policies and legal requirements, including OSHA safety standards, to ensure a hazard-free workplace for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Break down and dispose of cardboard, plastic wrap, and other waste materials in designated recycling and trash receptacles to maintain facility cleanliness.
  • Assist in the processing of customer returns, inspecting returned items for condition and restocking them into available inventory.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods, often for an entire 8-10 hour shift, in a physically demanding environment.
  • Safely lift and move heavy objects, typically weighing up to 50 pounds, either independently or with team assistance as required.
  • Communicate clearly with team leads about workflow, challenges, and progress to ensure a smooth and efficient operational flow.
  • Assemble and prepare shipping containers, boxes, and other packing materials in advance to support the packing team during high-volume periods.
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by demonstrating a can-do attitude, offering help to colleagues, and adapting to changing demands.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • RF Scanner & Handheld Device Operation: Proficiency in using handheld scanners for tracking inventory and processing orders.
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation: Basic ability to operate manual or electric pallet jacks, dollies, and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Basic Warehouse Management System (WMS) Navigation: Familiarity with the basic functions of warehouse software for looking up items and completing tasks.
  • Inventory Counting & Basic Math: Skill in performing accurate counts and basic arithmetic for order verification and inventory checks.
    -Order Picking and Packing Techniques: Knowledge of efficient and safe methods for picking products and packing them securely for transit.
