Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Direct, coach, and develop a team of associates, fostering a high-performance culture through consistent feedback, goal setting, and formal performance evaluations.
  • Drive the achievement of sales targets, profitability goals, and other financial KPIs by analyzing performance data and implementing effective commercial strategies.
  • Oversee the complete inventory management lifecycle for the section, including ordering, receiving, stock control, and executing strategies to minimize shrinkage and waste.
  • Ensure the highest standards of visual merchandising, product presentation, and overall section cleanliness are maintained to create a compelling customer experience.
  • Manage day-to-day operational execution, including staff scheduling, task delegation, and workflow optimization to ensure maximum productivity and service coverage.
  • Act as the ultimate champion for customer satisfaction within the section, empowering the team to resolve issues and proactively addressing escalated customer concerns.
  • Take full ownership of the section's operational budget, diligently managing labor costs, supplies, and other controllable expenses to maximize profitability.
  • Enforce and model all health, safety, and security protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for employees and a secure shopping environment for customers.
  • Lead the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and comprehensive training of new team members to ensure they are set up for success.
  • Analyze sales reports, foot traffic data, and other business intelligence to identify commercial opportunities, emerging trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary communication link between senior management and frontline staff, effectively cascading company objectives, policies, and updates.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment where all employees feel valued, motivated, and heard.
  • Plan and execute promotional events, product launches, and seasonal changeovers within the section to drive excitement and sales.
  • Collaborate effectively with other Section Managers and support functions (e.g., HR, Logistics, Marketing) to ensure a cohesive and consistent store-wide operation.
  • Act as the Manager on Duty on a rotational basis, taking responsibility for the entire store's operation, security, and staff during assigned shifts.
  • Proactively identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, customer service, and the overall employee experience.

Secondary Functions

  • Prepare and present detailed performance reports, business reviews, and action plans to senior leadership on a regular basis.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality, in partnership with Human Resources when necessary.

  • Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of all equipment and physical assets within the assigned section.
