Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively monitor a complex network of CCTV systems, intrusion detection alarms, and access control platforms to identify and assess potential security risks, safety hazards, and unauthorized activities in real-time.
  • Serve as the central point of communication for all security-related incidents, efficiently dispatching security personnel, maintenance, or other resources in response to alarms and calls for service.
  • Maintain a meticulous and chronological digital log of all activities, events, incidents, and communications, ensuring every action is documented for future review, analysis, and legal compliance.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external emergency services, including police, fire, and medical personnel, providing them with clear, concise, and accurate information during critical incidents.
  • Operate and manage multi-channel mass notification systems to disseminate timely warnings, instructions, and updates to employees during emergencies or significant events.
  • Skillfully triage and escalate security, safety, and operational issues according to established protocols, ensuring senior leadership and relevant stakeholders are informed promptly.
  • Conduct comprehensive virtual patrols of corporate facilities, critical infrastructure, and high-risk areas using the VMS (Video Management System) to provide a continuous and visible security presence.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of access control credentials, from issuance and modification to revocation, ensuring all access rights are properly authorized and audited.
  • Author detailed, clear, and professional incident reports that accurately document events, actions taken, and outcomes, serving as the official record for management and investigations.
  • Systematically review and analyze security footage to support internal investigations related to theft, misconduct, safety violations, or other policy breaches.
  • Control and monitor the physical access and egress points of facilities, managing visitor management systems and verifying the identity and authorization of all non-employees.
  • Implement immediate and appropriate actions during a crisis, following emergency response procedures meticulously to mitigate impact and ensure the safety of all personnel.
  • Conduct regular, systematic checks of all control room security systems and equipment to confirm operational readiness, promptly reporting any faults or malfunctions to technical support.
  • Monitor global events, social media, and threat intelligence platforms to identify potential risks to company assets, travelers, and operations, providing timely alerts to relevant parties.

Secondary Functions

  • Support post-incident review processes by gathering and compiling all relevant data, reports, and video footage for analysis.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of security protocols and standard operating procedures by providing feedback from an operational perspective.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new security personnel on control room operations, systems, and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain administrative records for the security department, including key inventories, equipment logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service by professionally answering security-related inquiries and providing assistance to employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of emergency preparedness drills and tabletop exercises.
  • Assist the security management team with ad-hoc projects, data collection, and preparation of reports for business reviews.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Systems Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in operating integrated security platforms, including Access Control Systems (e.g., Genetec, LenelS2, C-Cure, AMAG) and Video Management Systems (e.g., Milestone, ExacqVision, Avigilon).
  • Incident Management Software: Competency in using incident reporting and management software (e.g., Trak-System, Resolver) to log, track, and manage events from detection to resolution.
  • Emergency Communications: Experience operating mass notification and two-way radio communication systems under pressure.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Basic ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common issues with security hardware and software, and effectively communicate technical problems to support teams.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) for creating detailed reports, maintaining logs, and preparing presentations.
  • Geopolitical Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with travel security platforms and open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering techniques is a significant plus.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Education:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional security certifications (e.g., ASIS PSP, CPP, or manufacturer-specific system certifications).

Relevant Fields of Study:

  • Criminal Justice or Criminology

  • Business Administration with a concentration in security management

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar role.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a high-volume corporate Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), corporate command center, law enforcement/emergency dispatch center, or military command and control environment is highly desirable. Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., finance, energy, pharmaceuticals) is also beneficial.
