Primary Functions

  • Act as the primary on-site technical advisor, interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications to guide construction teams and subcontractors.

  • Prepare and manage as-built drawings, accurately documenting all changes and deviations from the original design for the final project handover.
  • Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and on-site problems by applying sound engineering principles and collaborating with the design team to find practical solutions.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and verifying that all supplies meet the required specifications and quality.
  • Monitor project progress against the established schedule, identifying potential delays and working with the project manager to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage the ordering and scheduling of material deliveries to prevent disruptions to the construction workflow and optimize on-site storage.
  • Ensure all temporary works are designed, installed, and maintained in a safe and effective manner throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and manage the testing of on-site materials, such as concrete (slump tests, cube tests), soils, and asphalt, to guarantee compliance with standards.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager, detailing site activities, resource allocation, and any emerging risks or challenges.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between different construction crews (e.g., groundworkers, steel fixers, carpenters) to ensure seamless workflow integration.
  • Review and interpret geotechnical reports and other site investigation data to inform foundation design and earthwork activities.
  • Manage permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities, ensuring all necessary precautions are in place before work commences.
  • Play a key role in the project handover process, compiling all necessary documentation, closing out snags, and ensuring client satisfaction with the final product.
  • Check technical designs and drawings for constructability, providing critical feedback to the design team to prevent issues before they arise on-site.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and construction operatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
