Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Direct and oversee all day-to-day construction activities on-site, from initial site setup and mobilization to project completion and demobilization.
- Spearhead and enforce a world-class site safety program, conducting regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and ensuring unwavering adherence to OSHA and all company health and safety regulations.
- Manage, coordinate, and supervise the work of all subcontractors, vendors, and direct labor forces to ensure they are meeting performance expectations and contractual obligations.
- Develop, maintain, and drive the master project schedule, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays to ensure key milestones and completion dates are met.
- Implement and manage a stringent quality control program, conducting regular inspections to ensure all work performed meets or exceeds design specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, architects, engineers, and consultants on-site, fostering strong professional relationships and facilitating clear communication.
- Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and construction documents, resolving any ambiguities or conflicts with the design team to ensure accurate execution.
- Manage on-site logistics, including material procurement, delivery scheduling, inventory control, and the efficient allocation of equipment and resources.
- Chair regular site coordination and progress meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders to review progress, address challenges, and align on upcoming activities.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate site documentation, including daily logs, progress photos, RFI (Request for Information) logs, change order documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve on-site issues, conflicts, and construction challenges in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor project costs and control site expenditures, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure the project remains within its approved budget.
- Coordinate and manage all required inspections with local authorities, building inspectors, and other regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and certificates of occupancy.
- Lead the project close-out process, including the creation and completion of punch lists, final inspections, and the successful handover of the project to the client.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, such as Assistant Site Managers and Field Engineers, providing guidance and fostering their professional growth.
- Oversee site security measures to protect the project site, materials, and equipment from theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Review and provide input on subcontractor scopes of work and payment applications based on work completed in the field.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, managing site cleanliness, waste disposal, and erosion control measures effectively.
- Champion a positive and collaborative on-site culture that prioritizes safety, quality, and mutual respect among all team members and trades.
- Generate and distribute comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to the project management team and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the commissioning and start-up of building systems in coordination with specialized subcontractors and engineers.
- Conduct thorough site inductions for all new personnel and visitors to ensure they are aware of project-specific rules, hazards, and emergency procedures.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Expert proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Build, Bluebeam).
- Strong command of project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- In-depth understanding of OSHA construction safety standards and local building codes.
- Solid experience with construction cost control, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with various construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Competency in managing RFI, submittal, and change order processes.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent, combined with extensive field experience.

Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range:
5-10 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role (e.g., Superintendent, Assistant Site Manager).
Preferred:
Proven track record of successfully managing commercial, industrial, or multi-family residential construction projects from start to finish. OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
