Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of the company's product suite and the underlying technologies.
  • Design, build, and maintain compelling and technically accurate product demonstrations, labs, and proof-of-concept environments for both pre-sales and post-sales scenarios.
  • Create a wide range of technical marketing content, including white papers, solution briefs, technical blogs, deployment guides, and best practice documents.
  • Produce engaging video content, such as product demos, feature overviews, and technical tutorials, for use on our website, social media, and sales enablement platforms.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and compelling presenter at industry trade shows, conferences, webinars, and customer-facing events.
  • Develop and deliver technical training materials and workshops to enable our global sales, sales engineering, and channel partner teams.
  • Conduct in-depth, hands-on competitive analysis to understand and articulate our key technical differentiators against competing solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to provide feedback from the field, influencing the product roadmap and future feature development.
  • Serve as the technical conscience of the marketing team, ensuring all outbound messaging is accurate, credible, and technically sound.
  • Build and nurture relationships with industry analysts, technical press, and key influencers by providing them with technical briefings and demonstrations.
  • Support high-stakes sales opportunities by providing deep technical expertise, custom demonstrations, and assistance with proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Author and publish technical articles in industry-leading publications and communities to build thought leadership and brand credibility.
  • Create and manage the technical bill of materials (BOM) for demonstration pods and lab environments, ensuring they are current and functional.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and product features into clear, concise, and compelling value propositions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop and script "day-in-the-life" scenarios and use cases that resonate with target personas like network engineers, security analysts, or DevOps professionals.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory analysis related to competitive win/loss rates and feature adoption.
  • Contribute to the organization's go-to-market strategy by providing insights on technical market trends and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing team to ensure technical accuracy and consistency across all campaigns, web content, and collateral.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the product and engineering teams to stay abreast of new developments.
  • Act as an internal resource for customer support and professional services on complex technical issues or new product introductions.
  • Monitor online technical communities, forums, and social media to identify trends, answer questions, and represent the company's technical voice.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Network & Security Fundamentals: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other core networking and security concepts.
  • Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), including IaaS, PaaS, and networking/security services within those platforms.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) for task automation, API integration, and creating demo tools.
  • Virtualization Technologies: Strong working knowledge of virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere, KVM, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Operating Systems: Expertise in managing and troubleshooting Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • API Integration: Experience working with REST APIs for product integration and automation.
  • Demonstration Craft: Ability to build and manage complex, multi-product lab environments for repeatable and compelling demonstrations.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent, demonstrable practical experience in a related role.

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCIE, AWS/Azure certifications) are highly desirable.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role.

A proven portfolio of created content (e.g., blog posts, videos, white papers) is a significant plus.
