Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct continuous, in-depth market analysis and competitive intelligence research to identify, monitor, and interpret emerging technology trends (e.g., AI/ML, GenAI, Cloud Native, IoT, Quantum Computing) and assess their potential for disruption or strategic advantage.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technology roadmaps in alignment with business goals, collaborating with product and engineering leaders to prioritize initiatives and sequence investments.
  • Construct detailed financial models, business cases, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to justify and secure funding for significant technology investments and digital transformation projects.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and due diligence process for new technology vendors, platforms, and potential strategic partners, ensuring alignment with our architectural principles and business needs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops, interviews, and brainstorming sessions with diverse stakeholders across business units to gather insights, define strategic requirements, and build consensus around technology direction.
  • Synthesize complex technical and market information into clear, compelling narratives and presentations for executive-level audiences to inform and influence critical strategic decisions.
  • Formulate and champion strategic recommendations on technology adoption, modernization, and divestment, providing a clear point of view on a "build vs. buy vs. partner" basis.
  • Define, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and value realization metrics for major technology initiatives to measure success and guide future investments.
  • Support the annual strategic planning and budgeting cycle by providing data-driven insights and recommendations for the company's technology investment portfolio.
  • Author internal white papers, research briefs, and thought leadership content to educate stakeholders on key technology trends and their strategic implications for the organization.
  • Analyze and map current business processes to identify key opportunities for technology-driven optimization, automation, and innovation.
  • Support technology due diligence activities for potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A), assessing the target's technology stack, architecture, and talent.
  • Develop and maintain analytical frameworks and standardized methodologies for consistently evaluating new technologies and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a key liaison between the office of the CTO/CIO and various business functions, ensuring that technology strategy is effectively communicated, understood, and executed.
  • Monitor the health and performance of the existing technology portfolio, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for rationalization or modernization.
  • Drive the exploration of proof-of-concept (PoC) projects for high-potential emerging technologies to test hypotheses and determine real-world applicability and value.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and perform exploratory data analysis to answer pressing strategic questions from senior leadership.
  • Contribute to the evolution and documentation of the organization's overarching data strategy, governance policies, and technology principles.

  • Manage and curate an internal knowledge base of technology research, competitive intelligence, and strategic documentation.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Financial Modeling & Business Case Development: Proven ability to build sophisticated models in Excel to evaluate ROI, NPV, and TCO for complex technology investments.
  • Data Analysis & Synthesis: Competency in using tools like SQL, Python, or R to query databases and analyze large datasets to uncover strategic insights.
  • Advanced Presentation Skills: Mastery of PowerPoint or similar tools to craft visually engaging and persuasive presentations that tell a compelling story with data.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Experience using industry research platforms (e.g., Gartner, Forrester) and other sources to conduct thorough market and competitive analysis.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
