Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design, implement, and support complex telecommunications networks, including Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and wireless systems.

- Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts for complex network outages and performance degradation, performing deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing lasting corrective actions.
- Plan and flawlessly execute network upgrades, infrastructure migrations, and equipment replacements with minimal disruption to business operations, often during scheduled maintenance windows.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, cybersecurity analysts, and software developers, to ensure the seamless integration of network services.
- Manage relationships with telecommunications carriers and service providers, overseeing circuit provisioning, validating Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and handling issue escalations.
- Implement and fortify network security measures, including Access Control Lists (ACLs), site-to-site VPNs, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), in alignment with the cybersecurity team.
- Evaluate, test, and recommend new networking technologies, hardware, and software to enhance network performance, reliability, and overall cost-effectiveness.
- Serve as a final escalation point and subject matter expert for the Network Operations Center (NOC) and IT help desk teams on high-priority incidents.
- Manage the physical infrastructure of data centers and network closets, ensuring proper cabling standards, power distribution, and environmental controls are maintained.
- Develop, test, and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all critical telecommunications infrastructure to ensure operational resilience.
- Perform detailed analysis of network traffic patterns using packet capture tools to optimize routing, improve Quality of Service (QoS), and accurately plan for future capacity needs.
- Lead or actively participate in major telecommunications projects by defining technical scope, creating project plans, and ensuring the timely delivery of key objectives.
